MOTTRAM'S WEEK 10 VOTES & NOTES
1. USC (1) -- Leinart, Bush and White average nine yards every time they pass or run the ball. Nine yards. Every time.
2. Texas (2) -- The scare at OK St. ended up being a 21-point win (their slimmest margin of victory since winning at the Horseshoe in early Sept.).
3. Virginia Tech (3) -- Unbeatable in Blacksburg. I don't know about a neutral site though.
4. Alabama (5) -- The only remaining unbeaten in the SEC hosts LSU and visits Auburn over the next three weeks.
5. Miami (6) -- Were losing 16-7 vs. UNC at the half but dominated 27-0 the rest of the way to lead into the showdown in Blacksburg (which they'll lose).
6. Notre Dame (7) -- A 10-year deal for Weis puts those NFL coaching rumors to bed.
7. LSU (8) -- Host Appalachian St. (!?!?) before visiting Tuscaloosa next week in an SEC West hoedown.
8. UCLA (9) -- Furious comeback at Stanford keeps hope alive for Bruins Nation.
9. Penn State (10) -- Ready to rumble with the Badgers in Happy Valley for what may turn out to be the Big Ten title.
10. Georgia (4) -- Joe Tereshinski III caught a TD pass and nearly won the Cocktail Party. Now the Dawgs get a rest before hosting Auburn in two weeks.
11. Ohio State (12) -- Took care of business in the Gopher Dome and have rebounded from tough early season losses to Texas and Penn St.
12. Florida State (11) -- Unlike last year, they survive the Terrapins attack (but still Fear the Turtle!).
13. Wisconsin (14) -- Brian Calhoun for Heisman? He's on pace for 1,624 yards and 25 TDs.
14. Oregon (13) -- It's on vs. Cal this Saturday.
The Next Five -- Florida, Auburn, West Virginia, BC, Texas Tech

Finally, last week's best comment comes from Mister Irrelevant reader gaffbag:
"Look for Texas to fall. Texas has nobody significant left on their schedule, except for the 'theoretically' dangerous trap game at A&M at the end of the regular season. When they roll onto the conference championship game they will likely face either Colorado or Missouri, two Big XII North teams they have already dismantled this year.
USC on the other hand, faces three ranked teams in their final five games, including a season finale against unbeaten, #6 UCLA. One has to imagine this historically small (.0007 point) difference in the BCS point total will easily disappear.
Additionally, if VT (who still plays #14 BC, #7 Miami and possibly #10 FSU in the championship game), Alabama (#8 LSU, #22 Auburn, and possibly #4 Georgia) or Georgia (#19 Florida, #22 Auburn, and possibly #5 Alabama) manages to win out, then ESPN's dream BCS matchup of Texas-USC may be in jeopardy altogether, much to the delight of Tommy Tuberville."

Notre Dame doesn't deserve a #6 ranking with two losses! They played USC tough, but a loss is a loss. As far as wins, Michigan is their only win against a top 25 opponent and there are no more quality opponents on their schedule. LSU, Penn State, and Ohio State should be ranked ahead of Notre Dame. Notre Dame isn't even the best two loss team let alone ranked above quality one loss teams. Ohio State has tow quality losses to top 10 teams (opnly one loss between Penn State and Texas) and has played a tougher remaining schedule than Notre Dame.
What, are you going to make Notre Dame a top 5 team now with two losses with the Virgina Tech loss? If Texas, Alabama, and Miami lose their conference championship games, you'd have Notre Dame playing for the national title. Do not jump on the Notre Dame wagon. NBC Notre Dame Saturday is enough for me!! -
Problem is with LSU. Seven victories, but only ONE over an actual qualty opponent. Loss is to a mediocre 3-5 Tennessee team

BRETTON'S WEEK 10 VOTES & NOTES
1. USC I really have a problem with USC because they dont play anyone other than Notre Dame and ASU.
2. Texas I can agree with you that they had a scare but they had to do the same thing last year and just killed them in the second half.
3. Virginia Tech They are not unbeatable in blacksburg beacuse when them old canes come into to town things will change because they are going to have there hands full with miami's defence.
4. Miami THEY ARE THE BEST TEAM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THEY WILL DESTROY VIRGINIA TECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
if as everyone expect the heisman is GIVEN to the ordained one aka bush. it will be the biggest embarrassment and injustice in the history of the award. no player with his stats this year would have ever been award the trophy in the past. not only does he not rank in the top 10 in rushing, 8 out of the 11 teams he will play against before the bowl game are currently ranked 80th or below in total defense. with 5 ranked lower than 100th(hawaii 101st,washington 102nd,oregon st 105th,arizona st 106th(t) and washington st 106th(t).) with stanford checking in at 99th. notre dame 96th, ucla 88th, arkansas 76th. of course he did play against those two defensive powerhouses in oregon at 53rd and california at 49th. my god this man is averaging 113 yards a game against powerhouse teams that rank an average of 89th out of 117th.
