Update on the Vikings Sex Boat and So Much More

One week after the Vikings sex party, Bryant McKinnie and (fantasy football enigma) Mewelde Moore were seen throwing bags of trash in a dumpster on a construction site. Apparently, the ABC affiliate in Minnesota fished all eight bags out of the trash. Their contents?

"What appeared to be remnants of a party, including aluminum tins of food, beer and champagne bottles, fireworks, disposable camera boxes, hollowed out cigars, something that looks like a marijuana bud, sexual and feminine hygiene products and Victoria's Secret underwear.

There was also a drink receipt with Bryant McKinnie's credit card number and boarding passes with his name on them, as well as a list of women's names."

Just a fascinating update to an amazing story. Follow the link for more. It is a must-click. And The Mighty MJD's take on it is priceless:

"The news story has a video clip featuring an interview with the aunt of a young woman who was working on the cruise, an interview with Ayana herself, and a hilarious clip of an interview with Bryant McKinnie standing at the door of his house. "That's a lie! Ain't no woman gonna be like, "Yeah, I'm a prostitute! - No. No."

So Much More:

· Priest Holmes may retire tomorrow. [Saved by the Blog]

· As someone who has read all three of the guy's books as well as his monthly columns for Spin and Esquire, I'm really glad Chuck Klosterman is writing for ESPN.com's Page 2. Check him out.

· Here's how you cover Teen Wolf. Seriously. [McSweeney's via Ohio LeBlog]

· Something Awful mocks SportsCenter, with the primary targets being Stu Scott ("bananas"), Linda Cohn ("bewildered"), Chris Berman ("woop!") and ESPN's collective ability to turnanything into a scandal ("black athletes").

· The Kings have apologized for the anti-Detroit video montage which was played before last night's Pistons game in Sacramento. Detroit Sports Blog is understandably pissed off:

"I just couldn't believe someone actually thought they were being funny.  I hope the guy who allowed this is fired.  You are a professional basketball franchise, have some respect for your opponent's hometown. Pathetic."

· Bartolo Colon wins the AL Cy Young and ESPN's Jayson Stark says Johan Santana was robbed. Stark's sentiment is shared by just about anyone who follows baseball and understands that wins are not the end all, be all of a starting pitcher's true value. I enjoyed his fact-filled article on the matter, so here's a snippet:

"Hitters who faced Colon had a batting average of .254 against him. The on-base percentage against Santana was .250. Any more objections, your honor?"

· Yannis (who also runs Roundball Bloggers) says of Andrew Bynum:

"What the Lakers did in drafting Bynum at the tenth spot in '05 was win the draft lottery in '07."

· Thanks to AOL's John Weibusch for reminding me of one of the best games of my life in his column on #17:

"Doug Williams not only became the first black quarterback to start a Super Bowl but he became the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl and the first to be named its Most Valuable Player. He and his team played the most astonishing quarter in big-game history - 35 points in a withering second 15 minutes - and won 42-10."

Of course, I was 10 years oldat the time and had no understanding of the significance of Williams' skin. All I knew was that he threw a great ball and won the Super Bowl for my Skins. That, and he wasn't Jay Schroeder.

Doug Williams In Doug we trust.

    Johan Gets No Respect

The voters just couldn't overlook the fact that Colon was credited with 21 victories. Santana beat him in ERA 2.87 to 3.48, and the Twins actually had a better record in Santana's starts than the Angels did in Colon's.

    In addition, Santana's WHIP was 0.98 to Colon's 1.16

    Santana's K/BB ratio was 238/45 in 232 innings pitched
    Colon's line, 157/43/223

Hitters batted .210 off Santana to .254 against Colon.
