Changes to AOL Blogs

There were some changes made to the AOL blogging product this morning that a lot of my "bloggers in arms" have been emailing/IMing me about. Joe over at Magic Smoke is working with the product managers for AOL blogs and is updating his blog with information on the matter. Stay tuned...

Joe at Magic Smoke is usually on top of these things, and he's a good blog to look in on now and then. 99% of the time, if you are having probs (especially in the early morning), a look at Joe's blog can put a fair ETA on the time a prob will be solved by.

Yesterday was the first time I ever saw him caught slipping, and a bunch of AOL dudes from different departments (Jamie, Joe, John Scalzi) were obviously as shocked as we were. From what I saw, Joe got beaten like a Klansman at a Parliament Funkadelic concert in his comments yesterday.

Either way, I feel badly that the J's (Jamie, Joe, John, Etc...) took beatings that should have suffered.

I agree with DieCast.  I guess I was online right when it the changes began.  I was on my blog typing this huge entry and when I hit SAVE, my blog was down and I lost it all.  It sucks.  I wish there was some sort of notification.

The biggest problem I have with the ads is that people who are still on dialup may have issues accessing my blog with flashing ads on the top of my page.  I've already noticed a slower load time on my DSL.  And the "whoring" sucks too....but this is America and if it ain't bolted down, it is for sale.

No doubt, and I came across this comment too from Monponsett:

"Who thought of Puke Green for the AOL 9.0 banner color? Did you guys just close your eyes and reach into a Crayola box?"

    Haha, you rock!

This is redickulous ... oh wait, i might have spelled that wrong. After having to watch the overrated dukies on tv last night in their home opener, I've kinda lost the ability to spell correctly. That's ok, ESPN better show some of the Gaurdians Classic next week or I'm officially going to stop watching espn. Sorry, I kinda went off subject for a second, but RoTfLmFa0! I think monponsett's reply pretty much sums up the reaction from the blogosphere. You gotta laugh!

    Later.

I've gotta agree with you guys...I'm not a huge fan of the ads either.
