Skier/Footballer/Mo del/Playboy Jeremy Bloom
I'm not a big fan of the Olympics, but I am one of the last remaining young men in America still subscribing to Sports Illustrated and last week's issue features Jeremy Bloom; who figures to medal in moguls at Turin 2006. For those who don't know, Bloom is a two-sport (skiing and football) athlete who played at Colorado for two years, competed in the '02 Games and lost his case against the NCAA after it banned him from playing football for ski-side endorsements. Anyway, some fascinating notes from the SI story (which I can't find online):
-- Bloom's the favorite to gold in moguls in Turin.
-- He'll compete in moguls on Feb. 15 in Italy and one week later in the NFL scouting combine in Indy (he's 5'10", 170 lb. and runs a 4.2 40).
-- At Colorado in '02 and '03 he scored 5 TD of 75 yards or more via returns and receptions.
-- He has modeled for Tommy, A & F and Under Armour.
-- His girlfriend of 18 months is 22 year-old 'Real World: San Diego' alum Cameran Eubanks. And if you know my Real World obsession, listing this fifth is definitely burying the lead.
-- In a three-week stretch in Dec. '02, he scored an 80-yard punt-return TD the Big 12 championship, took four finals exams, finished fourth in a World Cup event in Finland and played in the Alamo Bowl.
-- His jumps include a D-Spin 720 Iron Cross and '98 mogul gold medalist and MTV's 'The Gauntlet' host Jonny Mosely says, "The way he picked up new jumps, like overnight, was a total joke." Gnarly!

I just want to say how shocked and appalled that I am to learn that our Smurfette even knows the meaning of the below-mentioned Japanese term much less how to spell it.
I can only assume this is something teachers pick up in the schoolyard.

I never read that much information and still was like "Who?" at the end of an article. Does he ski, or skateboard?
Speaking of "end of the article," only a lonely Japanese man (or perhaps a group of them in a circle, like Bukaki) would develop a feminine blow up doll as a mascot. I can see Barney trying to sodomize one.
