Just When You Think It Can't Get Any Worse
As the fan of a team with only one 10-win season in the past 13 years, I can empathize with Lions nation when it comes to sucking real bad. But this season has been phenomenally painful in Motor City. First, they pass over defensive stud Shawn Merriman (7 sacks) to select WR Mike Williams (1 TD). Then they start 4-8, including a blowout loss on Thanksgiving Day. Of course, Mooch gets axed and then defensive leader Dre Bly starts ripping maligned QB Joey Harrington. Now Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer reports (here and here):
"Tackled, beaten and told he was banned from Ford Field for life for carrying a "Fire Millen" sign, 25 year-old Duncan DeBruin earns sympathy of all Detroit.

DeBruin: "Anyone who has a 20-56 record and is in charge of one of the worst franchises in all of the NFL should be fired."
Paper: The Lions said DeBruin violated two stadium rules. Ford Field guidelines say fans are not allowed to bring banners or signs into the stadium. The Lions also said DeBruin's game of hide-and-seek was a "security violation," and they feared someone could get injured."
If this doesn't incent Lions fans to bring anti-Millen flair to Ford Field on Dec. 18 for the Bengals game, I don't know what will.
Update: Watch the video of the fan getting taken down.
