Sports Bloggers Live's Best of 2005

We launched this little internet show called Sports Bloggers Live last January and had a pretty wild year. No, not wild like a Vikings cruise or two TopCats in a bathroom or The 7th Floor at The U., but wild in that we were heard millions of times, became AOL's first podcast (audio and then video) and got to interview Art Monk and Cal Ripken (but not Will Clark).

So we thought it appropriate to put together a Best of 2005 show in honor of our first anniversary, and we're pretty proud of it. It's one hour long and playing right now and through the New Year at sportsbloggerslive.com, and here are some of the highlights:

-- Quick clips with big-deal guests: Artest, Clemens, Mattingly, Rosenhaus, Tyson, Chad Johnson, Riggins, (a combative) Carter, Jim Brown, Frank Caliendo, Rice, Wade, Redick and Jensen

-- Banned on SBL mp3s: Reggie Jackson cursing like a sailor and our Whizzinator commercial

-- Worst-of moments: CT and Chris swearing, Venus Williams hanging up on us and more

-- Our first/worst show ever: the opening salvo of airtime from way back in Jan.

-- Sixteen prize giveaways: winning is really easy

Check it out, and feel encouraged to post feedback in the comments section.

Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those who listened and called and IMed when we first started. Back in January we didn't have the Artests and Clemens and Marinos of the world on the show. Or even the Buster Olneys or Stewart Mandels for that matter. We didn't even have the most popular sports bloggers on the web. Our guests came exclusively from the Pigskin Bloggers network of NFL team blogs on AOL Sports. Sportz Assassin, Monponsett, Diecast Dude, Dungy's Dungy, Bolts Blog, Jersey Joe, George Coztanza, Tree Soup, Quick Slants and others who were with us from the start made it possible. So, thank you.

Finally, to everyone, have a merry New Year and we'll be back with more SBL starting on Jan. 3rd at 7 PM ET.

The Out back Bowl was determined by poor officiating!

Had you aired that Reggie Jackson clip to start the show, it would've been passed around the Web and SBL would be the most popular internet radio show around.
