Neyer on Jeter: "So Young and Supple"

At 2 PM ET today we'll know if anyone, anyone at all, will be in the baseball Hall of Fame class of 2006. More on that -- and the winner of the Mustache Bet -- later. For now though, enjoy the following HoF goodness:

· ESPN's Rob Neyer breaks down which active players have the best chances of making it to the Hall. He interestingly calls Rafael Palmeiro a "lock" while listing Ken Griffey Jr. as "on the fence," but the funniest part is when he describes Derek Jeter as being "so young and supple."

· ESPN.com's 10 Hall of Fame voters submitted ballots that would send four men to Cooperstown: Rich Gossage (10 votes), Jim Rice (9), Bruce Sutter (8) and Jack Morris (8). Bert Blyleven and Andre Dawson just missed with seven votes.

· TheMirl.com asks 18 internet writers to submit ballots and they don't elect anyone. Blyleven and Gossage came closest with 12 and 11 votes, respectively.

Bruce Sutter Damn close last year.

For what it's worth, I'd vote for Gossage, Blyleven and, of course, Will Clark. How about you?

I'd like to see Bert in...whether or not that's ever going to happen is another story.
