NFC Championship Pregaming

The Panthers had an up-and-down regular season and won two road playoff games to get here. The Seahawks cake-walked an easy regular season schedule and beat a bedraggled Skins team at home to get here. Neither is more deserving than the other. Neither is necessarily better than the other either, which is why Carolina's getting about three points heading into Qwest Field (the away team usually gets about three just for being on the road).

All that said, this a tough one to predict. Both teams have quality QBs, stout defenses, experienced coaches and bad uniforms. Carolina has Steve Smith. Seattle has Shaun Alexander. The Panthers have lesbian cheerleaders. The Seahawks have Lofa Tatupu. I don't know who I'm picking and I can't even decide who to root for. So let's see what bloggers be sayin':

Seahawks Fans Anonymous posts the 'Seahawks Rule' mp3 (to the tune of Gorillaz' 'Feel Good, Inc.') and is uncertain on what will happen Sunday:

"I don't know if the glass is half full  or half empty... all I know is that I'm going to drink the mother[bleep]er. I'll be happier than anyone if the Seahawks win this game. They deserve to, but both of these teams do. You don't claw your way to the NFC championship by being a scrub, no matter what the Redskins and Bears fans say.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to make a bet with all of you. IF the Seahawks win this game... IF they advance to the Super Bowl... two things will happen: Hell will freeze over, and I will CHANGE THE NAME of my OWN Blog. After all... if the Hawks are going to the Bowl neither they nor their fans will any longer be Anonymous."

Jake Delhomme Highest-rated QB in playoff history

The Mighty MJD is leaning towards Carolina:

"Darrell Jackson and Bobby Engram are both banged up. I know they're going to play, but I am so damn borderline on this game, that I'm looking for any little thing. Seattle's going to have to throw the ball effectively to win, and with knicked receiversagainst perhaps the best secondary in the game... advantage, Carolina. I think they can get away with playing a lot of man, allowing them to key on Shaun Alexander."

Don't Score Too Quickly hates on Mike Holmgrem and Shaun Alexander but picks Seattle:

"The Panther are going to tee off early, thanks to Nick Goings, but Matt Hasselback will rule the day. By the end of the day, Hasselback will have the nickname "Patton" because he will take control of the battlefield just like old George used to do. He will start bitch slapping the Panthers' defense will barking cadences fact, he might get so excited that he kills somebody, preferably an official rather than a player so the game won't be delayed as long. Seahawks 27-24"

My pick? Carolina 24-17 What's yours?
