Media Day Is Really Weird
A few things about this very special Media Day, 2006...
1. Sports Bloggers Live's own Craig Thomas was in amongst throng in his Browns thong and called in for the first of two SBL Extras we're doing for Super Bowl Week. The highlight was when he asked Troy Polamalu about the 'Puhlahmahlu' song and the long-haired, soft-spoken, hard-hitting safety knew exactly what he was talking about. Hear today's SBL Extra here or download it here. Craig's also Blogging From Detroit, but he hasn't had much time to post much yet. Go get 'em, CT. Oh, and I was kidding about that Browns Thong thing.
2. Tom Arnold is blogging from Detroit for AOL and will be co-hosting Thursday's Super Bowl XL SBL live from 5-6:30 PM ET. Word on the mean streets of Motor City is that Michael Irvin, founding father of the 7th Floor Crew will be joining us for that show. Seriously.
3. Deadspin broke the best story of the day from the comfort of his couch in NYC. That's right, while thousands of reporters, bloggers and celeb-types assaulted Ford Field, Deadspin Will Leitch scooped them all with party pics of the biggest star in this, the biggest game. Kudos, Leitch. Your timing is impeccable and your sources impenetrable.
