SBL's Most-Hated Athletes... Revealed!

The people have spoken. More specifically, they spoke on the Sports Bloggers Live most-hated athletes special (which you can listen to in-full right here), naming the three most-despised figures in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NCAA football and basketball, NHL and NASCAR. Fortunately, these lists have next to nothing in common with GQ's 10 most-hated athletes-- Bonzi Wells? Lleyton Hewitt? Phil Mickelson? (Stick to fashion, boys.) The following are guys that are truly loathed by fans, winners of the fans' choice awards of hate, if you will. So without further adieu, the results:

Barry Bonds, Terrell Owens and Kobe Bryant Big "winners"!

NFL's Three Most-Hated Players (according to readers of Dave's Football Blog)
3. Peyton Manning
2. Ray Lewis

Also, we had previously mentioned that we were going to name the most-hated announcers as part of this show (with Deadspin doing the polling), but decided that that topic is an entire show in and of itself. More to come. Until then, feel free to use the comments section to opine on the most-hated results.

Update: Because the poll on the SBL page only allows for four answers, we couldn't include all of the most-hated "winners" on it in an attempt to name the most-hated in all of sport. Luckily, this blog is not bound by such limitations. Vote or Die!

McNamara from Syracuse. A showboater and an arrogant jerk just like his cousin.  I would know, I dated him.

I don't understand the hatred everyone has for Kobe. Yes, he is arrogant. But shoot; have you seen him play at all? The arrogance is not ill deserved. The guy can play. I realize there are other players in the league with the talent, but can any of the players that are Kobe's age or younger out play him? Kobe backs his arrogance with the show he puts on during a game. Arrogance is very unsportsmanlike, but so is the rest of the crap that a lot of these players do. Don't hate on the boy b/c he knows how to play. TO is arrogant as well, but he takes it to the level of shoving it in the team's face (stand on the star at TX Stadium after getting a TD). Hate that type of arrogance...nirali

Maybe we should include the cowardly Red Sox owner who lent his jet to transport people to places where they could be tortured!
