Hearing Cuba vs. DR in the WBC
My Three Favorite NFL Moves So Far
1. Brandon Lloyd, Redskins -- Not only is he an aspiring rapper, but Peter King hates the move. I hope he MCs all of Clinton Portis' pressers this season.
Edge + Trick Daddy = B.F.F.!
2. Edgerrin James, Cardinals -- I really feel bad about buying my buddy Sean an Edge jersey last fall (now he's asking for a Reggie Wayne), but there's something liberating about Edge leaving the near-perfect Colts for the NFL's version of purgatory. As SI's Michael Silver reports,
"Rosenhaus finalized the contract, and soon there was a press conference that James attended with but one regret: "I had wanted to take Trick Daddy with me to the press conference, but things unfolded so fast. He was going to be the 'Other Drew' -- that would've been live."
3. Antwaan Randle El, Redskins -- As Taylor Bunts says, this makes for a Posse 2.0 in DC, with Santana Moss as Art Monk, Randle El as Gary Clark and Lloyd as Ricky Sanders. I'm getting flashbacks (the good kind) just at the mention of those guys, even if this new group is a poor man's version of the original.
What do you think of the moves so far?
More: AOL's Ira Miller doesn't like the James and Randle El signings, and Sportz Assassin says the acquisitions of Lloyd, Randle El, TE Christian Fauria and safety Adam Archuleta give the Skins a strong offensive corps and one of the best secondaries in the NFL.
Update: Dave's Football Blog speculates on why players are leaving Indy.

I think the Redskins are serious about getting to the Super Bowl because of their recent activity in the free agent market. The only thing stopping them is the aging Mark Brunell. They can have an all-star offensive line, the top receivers and running back in the NFL, but as long as they have that albatross hanging around their neck, they will be watching the Super Bowl from their living rooms.

I personally thought the Mike Anderson to Baltimore move was quite interesting...

At least Edge won't have to suddenly get used to winning big playoff games.
