Thursday's First Round Action -- 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sets
16 games yesterday. 16 more today. Is this Iowa?
Tennessee survives Winthrop. If not for James Lofton's kid's improbable near-buzzer beater, the shocking upset that so many predicted would've occurred.
Florida pistol whips South Alabama. Could be the start of a deep run for the Gators.
Yannick Noah's kid is on fire.
GW comes back from 18 down against UNC-W. They got royally screwed by the Selection Committee but should reap the benefits of playing Duke in a marquee game on Saturday.
Gonzaga outguns Xavier. I love it when Morrison hits himself in the head. All for show, maybe, but highly enjoyable nonetheless. I wanna see him get in a "fight" with Killingsworth Saturday.
LSU outmans Iona. Big Baby, indeed.
'Bama beats Marquette. I thought Novak would take them farther.
UCLA crushes Belmont. This team is lock for the Elite Eight. You know, until they get upset.
Indiana squeaks by San Diego State. Mike Davis stays to coach another game, a hot second-rounder with Gonzaga.
Duke beats Southern. 1-16 games blow, and I don't wanna hear about Oral Roberts over Memphis, either (Shanoff!).
Montana beats Nevada in a 12-5 special. Just a weird game, from the way it was seeded to the outcome. Montana took it to 'em and gets a rejuvenated BC team on Saturday.
Illinois survives Air Force. More competitive than anyone could've imagined.
Washington handles Utah St. Hey, a 5 seed wins! B-Roy goes off for 28. Now they get Illinois.
Texas A&M pulls the 12-5 on Syracuse. Tough way for G-Mac to go out, but we'll remember their Big East Tourney run long after forgetting about these first round games. And cheers to the Aggies, who hadn't even been in the Tournament in 19 years.
