A Real Kick in the Pants for Pats Fans
Adam Vinatieri signs with the Colts, which is kind of like the NFL version of Johnny Damon signing with the Yankees. Neither feels right but should produce entertaining and uncomfortable results come the regular season and, with any luck, the postseason. And, oh yeah, both probably make New Englanders want to burn their jerseys. Reactions and observations from around the blogosphere...
· Mighty MJD: "This could be the most important transaction of the offseason."
· SBL Craig: "Cutting icons is nothing new to Belichick. This is the same man who whacked Bernie Kosar in the middle of the season."
· Touching All the Bases: "Five greatest kicks of Adam Vinatieri's Pats career...
1. Rams. Super Bowl. Won game.
2. Raiders. Snow Bowl. Tied game.
3. Panthers. Super Bowl. Won game.
4. Raiders. Snow Bowl. Won game.
5. Titans. Modern-Day Ice Bowl. Won game."

Best Adam V memory... watching him take down a streaking Herschel Walker on a kickoff return.
