Self-Cooling Beer Here!
Via the phenomenal Philly blog The 700 Level comes this item sure to be of interest to most sports fans: Miller will begin using self-cooling cans in 2007. Details ...
"The cans are regular 16 ounce size but only contain 10.5 ounces of liquid, as the rest of the space contains the cooling apparatus: a dessicant that when activated draws the heat from the beverage into a heat sink, causing the drink to lower a minimum of 30F in a remarkable three minutes."
So yeah, only 10.5 ounces vs. the standard 12 (or more if you're toting a tallboy), and you'll be forced to drink Miller Lite if you partake, but pretty great nonetheless. Especially for those who can't afford to stock their tailgates with ice or simply can't be tethered to a cooler.
Anyway, this brings us to the discussion point of the day -- of the Big Three light beers that people usually end up drinking in stadium parking lots or other venues where binge drinking occurs, which is the best? This is how I'd rank them, all things considered:
1. Bud Light -- The taste isn't that bad, plus they sponsored SBL once.
2. Coors Light -- No taste whatsoever and you can drink them forever. Like alcoholic water.
3. Miller Light -- Tastes like camel piss, but they'll come in self-cooling cans!
