Old NFL Posters Are High Art

A black & white 8x10 team photo of the 1983 world champion Baltimore Orioles hangs like a sports fan diploma above my humble desk. I bought it on eBay for $7 five years ago, and I think I've finally found it's match. Via Thighs Wide Shut (great pop culture blog, btw) come these eBay auctions of vintage NFL posters from the early '80s. They have them for 20 different teams, with the Broncos one probably being the best and the Falcons one looking like one of Napoleon Dynamite's t-shirts.

But I think we all know which one I'm after. Who wants to get into a bidding war on this '82 Redskins print depicting Theismann, Riggo and "all that" (which is how Fred Smoot once described the Capitol Building to Suzy Kolber)?

We'll also have to get the '84 Bears poster for Lush and the '85 Eagles poster for Erin to tack up in the SBL studio. And, sorry CT, there are no Browns posters in this collection to help you relive the glory days of Brian Sipe, but I'm pretty sure you already have you're own at home.

Men are cute when they think that their wives will let them hang John Riggins posters up in the house.
