Hearing the French Open (Down with Venus!)
American Sports Idol
Keyed off of the runaway smash hit success of Fox's American Idol, AOL Sports attempts to discover America's top sports idol. Unlike the show, all of the candidates are already well known superstars like Tom Brady and LeBron James.
Anyway, the top three sports idols, according to the voting public, are Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong and Danica Patrick, which is unfortunate. I think my top three would be Clinton Portis, Gilbert Arenas and maybe Heather Mitts.
Be that as it may, the whole thing is worthwhile for the photo gallery of "crossover idols" alone, sports stars who have dabbled in the world of entertainment. Just check out these blasts from the past...
