Save SellTheKnicks.com!

Courtesy of the excellent Real GM daily NBA newsletter comes the wacky sports internet story of the day: Knicks owner James Dolan is trying to shut down selltheknicks.com's t-shirt sales. Dolan's lawyer alleges that the shirts, which carry slogans such as "Sell the Knicks" and "Duck Folan," are an infringement of intellectual property rights, which sounds bogus to me. I don't know, maybe we need Sports Law Blog to intervene here. Or, considering that the site has only sold 20 t-shirts, maybe not. Either way, here's what the selltheknicks.com founder has to say...

"It's kind of spineless. At least we have [Dolan's] attention. If he wasn't scared of what we possibly could do, he'd let it roll over. It's encouraging, but it's also disappointing he's being so petty and can't take a joke."

Perhaps the best part of this story is that the Sell the Knicks guys are planning a protest of Dolan's band's performance at B.B. King's in New York on July 9th. That's right, Dolan's band -- JD & the Straight Shot. Bluesy grooves!

"Millionaire" and "blues" should never go together. It's like a Kenny G soul album.
