Hearing 82 Games on SBL

T.O. Gets Us to Look at Him

The Mavs may have won Game 1, but Dallas fans who also care about them Cowboys lost a little bit of their soul when ABC found Terrell Owens in the stands wearing a Heat jersey with a Mavs hat. No big deal, sure, I can just imagine 1984-esque Two Minutes Hate sessions erupting in living rooms across the Lone Star state as fans of America's Team quickly realized the honeymoon was, in many ways, over. It wasn't as bad as him sporting a Michael Irvin throwback on the Eagles team flight home from a Cowboys game, but still.

The 700 Level calls it "typical Terrell" and The Mighty MJD has a similar perspective...

"The statement that Owens is making with his ensemble is something like, “I have no real conviction about anything. The very concept of loyalty confuses me and makes me begin to weep. I will do what is fashionable, and what I believe is cool. I am completely unaware of my surroundings and the basic rules of a normal society… and I just don’t care, because I don’t have to.”

TO is from Alabama, and probably not as prone to parochial sports affilations as someone from a big league town is. I have a very nice Canadiens jersey that I will never wear, as I view it as a form of sacrilege.

Little known fact: TO's middle name is "Eldorado."
