Give It Up for the Whale

As I predicted before the playoffs and Sportz Assassin predicted before last night, the Hurricanes beat the Oilers in Game 7 to win the Stanley Cup. I really don't know much about hockey and didn't watch much of these playoffs, so I'll hand you over from here to Off Wing Opinion, the source for my hockey blogging needs. He includes an outstanding note in his coverage that NBC's audio picked up Ray Whitney yelling, "This f#*&ing rocks!" while raising the Cup high over head for the fans in Raleigh and all of hockey nation to see.

Oh, and if you don't get the title of this post then it means that you, like me, are not much of a hockey fan. The 'Canes were the Hartford Whalers until '97.

The Whale had a great jersey... some sort of HW interpretation that involved a whale tail. You had to look for a minute before you recognized the whale tail as being a W.

Chris, I believe, is correct.  He kisses the cup and screams "F'n right boys!"

I read both Off Wing and Deadspin's posts claiming that Whitney yelled "This F'ing rocks!"  I was watching last night as well, and I clearly heard "That's F'ing RIGHT!"  We need video to decide this dispute!
