  lou gehrig,babe ruth,jimmie foxx, mickey mantle,roger maris, ted williams, joe dimaggio and many other all-time greats are probably turning over in their graves at what steroids has done to there all-american sport

  My post was cut off, but I meant to finish by saying that if the government REALLY wanted to "send a message" about the dangers of steroid use, it would make public service announcements against it as it did against cigarette smoking!  Attacking Bonds will do nothing but solidify the notion of the US government as an entity the INSTITUTIONALIZES racism!  Senator John McCain is trying to get innocent black heavyweight champion,  Jack Johnson exonerated of trumped up charges by a racist government.  Is it THIS government todays' intent for senators decades from now to exonerate Bonds because of IT'S racism now?  Shaking my head.  A white friend of Jackie Robinson appeared on ESPN literally WEEPING over how the evil, racist treatment of Jackie Robinson led to his too- early DEATH!  Make no mistake.  Racist whites TODAY are doing the SAME thing to Bonds.  Racist crowds in Texas cheered when a racist pitcher deliberately HIT Barry and then smirked about it on camera!  Shaking my head.  Stop the evil racist witch hunt while YOU still have time.  You will have to answer to your maker if you do not!

  McGwire actually SHOWED a reporter his "performance enhancers"  and described them to him back DURING his  "homerun race!"  The reporter  wrote an article  which was read by MILLIONS, but  no one really cared!  IF Bonds began to take them AFTER seeing how McGwire was CHEERED- then he (Bonds) just evened the playing field.  It's also entirely possible that Bonds was telling the truth when he said he didn't know.  Woody Paige,  a  commentator on ESPN, said  that his doctor TOLD him he was putting him ( Woody) on one of the substances Barry is accused of taking.  Note:  the doctor did not ASK Woody whether  he wanted to take it.  He TOLD him.  But Woody,  today, knows about them and told the doctor he would NOT take it.  Former athletes here and in other countries are suffering because of that condescending treatment by medical personnel.  But back to the racism.   McGwire,  was allowed to RETIRE to cheers after taking steroids.  In contrast, Bonds has to do his job with all of racist America raging! Evil racist pitchers have deliberately HIT him and smirked on camera about it. Evil racist crowds have  cheered such violently racist evil.  Why,  BEFORE any allegations of steroids reared their ugly head,  Barry Bonds was walked TWICE as much as Babe Ruth  (who by the way, had black heritage HIMSELF).  Perhaps since pitchers actually THREW the ball to Babe Ruth while REFUSING to throw it to Barry,  then the BABE'S record is  the one which needs an asterisk!  Gambini, Palmieri,  McGwire and a HOST of whites have used steroids with impunity.     And nearly HALF of  players PROVEN to have been on steroids are PITCHERS!!   If the government  wants to keep youth from abusing,   then it would make public service announcements against it as it has had some effectiveness in airing agains
