Hearing Wizznutzz -- 'Goodbye, Party John Ramos' (Dagger Mix)

'TV Recommendation: 'Friday Night Lights'

When a network puts a fast-paced show on during primetime that combines high school, football and alternative rock, you've got something with the potential to be one of my favorite things. And that's what Friday Night Lights has become after just three episodes. The on-field action is good, the girls are well-cast, the acting (especially by the guy who plays the head coach) is quality and the townies are sufficiently frightening. There's even a drunk fullback named Riggins. The only fault is that the backup-turned-starting quarterback has a worse throwing motion than Freddie Prinze Jr. in Summer Catch, so, yeah, I'm hooked.

Behold the ladies of FNL: the coach's daughter, village bicycle, coach's wife and QB's girlfriend.

That said, the first episode was seen by fewer folks than both Dancing With the Stars and NCIS. Considering the former makes me queasy and I've never heard of the latter, good ol' Friday Night Lights may not be long for network TV. But like The Mighty MJD said last week, it should be. Do your part by giving it a shot next week (Tuesdays on NBC at 8 PM), and come back and tell me to piss off if it doesn't take.

And while we're here, I may as well rattle off the other shows in my weekly DVR lineup in order of how much I love thee: Lost, The Office, Project Runway, Real World/Road Rules Whatever, The Daily Show, Colbert Report and Saturday Night Live. What am I missing out on?

Like Benny said Two-A-Days was pretty good. The on the field action was good, because it was real, and was enough to cancel out the laguna beach mellowdrama that the other half of the show was filled with. I've been watching Friday Night Lights as well and am hooked as well. I can't wait to see what happens with the black quarterback, and drunk ass Riggins and that girl. They did a good job with this show.

MTV's Two-A-Days was pretty good. Prison Break is a must watch. Stuido 60 and 30 Rock are both hilarious, the latter being more funny. Anytime Dateline has "To Catch A Predator" is a must TIVO. The Nine is a pretty interesting show. Comes on right after Lost.

Heroes, Studio 60 on Sunset, Nip/Tuck, Prison Break are all must-watch man, I have told you cut the Project Runway and Real Word.. they have fresh meat on the new one... dudes that were only on a challenge. The recycled nature of that show is terrrible.
