Drew Gooden Battles Real-Life Dwight Schrutes for Calculator Watches

The Akron Beacon Journal's Brian Windhorst does as good a job covering the Cavs as any guy covering any team, and I've never thought that moreso than now this very moment. Via Ohio LeBlog, Windhorst informs that Cleveland forward Drew Gooden is sporting a calculator watch, "ducktail" haircut and lines in his eyebrows. In fact, he wanted that sweet calculator watch so badly, he endured quite a bit to get his mitts on it...

"Gooden is on a big 1980s kick, a current fad in his hometown of Oakland. The Cavs forward recently plunked down $300 on eBay to get a vintage Casio calculator watch...

Gooden, however, was a little upset he had to get into a bidding war for the watch. Apparently he's run into another trend, as fans of NBC's The Office are in the market because one is sported by favorite nerdy character Dwight Schrute.

"It was me and another guy and we were bidding back and forth and it kept going up and up,'' Gooden said. "I was lucky I got it.''

It should be noted that the Casio CA-95 pictured above, which I may or may not have owned at one point, appears courtesy of the excellent Nerd Watch Museum.

I wonder if Drew can work his own calcuwatch with those 6'10" fingertips of his.
