FanHouse Launch: NBA and NCAA Basketball Are Postin' Up
FanHouse launched three months ago aspiring to become "the largest, finest sports blogging network ever assembled." Since then we've taken big steps -- 6 million hits, 30,000 comments, 9,000 posts -- towards that lofty goal, and yesterday marked a huge leap forward. Ball fans, allow me to introduce you to two more bad creations: NBA FanHouse and NCAA Basketball FanHouse.
Like we did with NFL FanHouse and NCAA Football FanHouse, we scouted the blogging community and recruited those individuals who we thought would be the best fit. Unlike the football sites, where we have 80 writers (most of whom are assigned to their favorite team), we have only 20 posting up about hoops. The reason being that we're stressing quality over quantity while still providing comprehensive, fan-driven coverage. We'll see how it goes, but, with the start these guys are off to, I'm optimistic about what we've got going on here. Actually, that's an understatement. I'm overwhelmingly proud of what FanHouse has become and where it's going.

All that said, here's the lineup for NBA FanHouse:

• Marcel Mutoni via Bench Renaldo and Slam Online
• Matt Watson via Detroit Bad Boys

And the lineup for NCAA Basketball FanHouse:

Ain't no doubt that these guys (and Gossip!) will deliver as the FanHouse football staff has and continue to make Big Brother (a.k.a. AOL Sports) a very happy (and did I mention proud?) older sibling. Now, we're gonna go have a coke and a smile before turning our lonely eyes to MLB FanHouse, NHL FanHouse, NASCAR FanHouse and beyond...

AOL has assembled an impressive list of hoops-obsessed bloggers and let them loose on one site. The site is the N.B.A. Fan House (nba.aolsportsblog.com) and for sheer volume it is going to be hard to beat. The site began last Friday, and topics ranged from Kobe Bryant's 30-point third quarter Thursday night to Tony Parker and Eva Longoria's pending nuptials. Bloggers from sites like The Basketball Jones (thebasketballjones.net), The Association (theassociation.blogs.com), The Mighty MJD (themightymjd.com) and others will be contributing.

I'm still waiting for NASCAR FanHouse.
My guess is it'll be a rather long wait. -
I really wanted the NBA gig, and would have worked for free. NOW, I'm pissed.

This is eerily reminiscent of how Independence Day went down.. "taking over our bloggers..turning them against us..." heh, Jamie man, this is incredible, good job!
