Brian Billick Used to Be With Leather

I'm stepping out for weekend to the mountains and fishing holes of West Virginia. Hopefully they'll have talking picture boxes there so I can watch NFL playoff games, especially the Colts attempt to drive the dagger deeper into the heart of Charm City. And although I don't have anything new to say about this specific matchup, I do want to share FanHouse's discovery that Brian Billick was on Match Game some 30 years ago ...

Just look at that head of hair and Three's Company-style jacket with fat-body yellow and brown tie. That is one wild and crazy guy. All he needs is a dirty 'stache to do how Mr. Mottram used to do back in the day. No wonder my mom's defenses were rendered useless.

Even funnier is that Billick also made appearances on The Gong Show and Jeopardy. Well, maybe not so much funny as sad. Much has been made of Billick's egomania (anyone seen Hard Knocks?), and you know that if he was 33 in '07 rather than '77 he'd be one of those guys who keeps trying out for Survivor or The Bachelor or whatever reality vehicle would get him on TV. Perhaps that's why he's an NFL coach. Although the man does have a Super Bowl ring, so I should probably just let him enjoy the spotlight and go about my business.

Regardless, enjoy the long weekend, and remember MLK well.
