Touchdown: 'Buenvenidos a Miami'

We have arrived. After a quick flight spent with a new album and a good book, PR superstar Alysia Lew and our massive amount of luggage touched down in Miami, grabbed an icy hot stuntin' Pontiac G6 and pushed off toward the plush accommodations of a Courtyard Marriott.

What quickly became of evident, other than that the GPS device will not stick to the windshield under any circumstance, is that the Super Bowl is kind of a big deal down here. The logo is plastered on everything from airport wallboards to Burger King paper bags to building sides and beyond. Which is funny, because the design (Dolphins orange and blue) and tagline (One Game. One Dream.) may have taken five minutes to come up with.

Anyway, we enjoyed a fine meal on the water with the Fantoo ladies and are meeting the rest of the gang (AOL Sports chief Neal Scarbrough and SBL cohost CT) today to coordinate for the week before heading to the Miami Beach Convention Center to pick up credentials. And -- THIS JUST IN -- da Bears will be arriving at 4 p.m., so let the swarm begin.

So yeah, all of this has been exhilarating so far, but, there's more to come, including the retelling of my conversation with the sports blogosphere's latest obsession. That's right, I've got her number, and I'm not sharing, unless you can tell me what the difference between "Miami" and "South Florida" is. Then we'll talk.
