SBL From SB XLI: Bears Hotties and Poets

Today was an oddity for myself and for the still-beating Sports Bloggers Live. It was our virgin experience on Radio Row (or any row) at the Super Bowl (or any bowl) and was equal parts confounding and outstanding. Allow me to set the scene, if you will.

Our spot is set amongst 100 other tables of its kind on a Boise State turf-blue carpet in a cavernous convention center. Directly in front of us is the NFL Network stage and John Riggins Show, and behind us is Mike & the Mad Dog and dozens of Roger Goodell's signature edition spelling out XLI in all of its glory ....

All around is a who's who of sports media types and athletes. Today saw Cris Carter, Tony Siragusa with two Hooters girls in tow, Deion Sanders, Hank Goldberg, Drew Brees, Sean Salisbury, Donald Driver, Rob Dibble and his 38 tattoos, John Clayton in shorts, Bob Ryan, Ed Werder, Michael Smith, Jemelle Hill, Jim Rome, Tony Bruno and Ronnie Brown. All were within our reach, although I didn't man up and talk to hardly any of them. In fact, we only conducted one in-person interview, and that 17-minute rambler -- conducted via iPod! -- with Bill Simmons should be posted in full right here tomorrow.

Aside from the gawking, we also managed to host the first in a series of five SBL specials this week from Miami. Here's the full show along with individual clips for each of our A-list guests:

SBL in Miami for Super Bowl XLI: Day One

Bears eBay Hottie and Axe Pitchwoman Sarah Spain

Two for the Money Inspiration Brandon Lang

Bears Poet Matt Ballard (Highly recommended!)

Subway Guy and Colts Fan Jared Fogle

Join us live tomorrow at noon for a clip from the Simmons interview as well as conversations with Bad Jocks, Kissing Suzy Kolber, Pro Football Talk and Da Superfans. You can be heard on the program by IMing me at dcsportsguy throughout the hour (thanks to Awful Announcing and Unsilent Majority for joining us today) or calling the voicemail hotline at 1-866-382-7469 anytime. I love this show.

I gotta say. Spain was not the best interview. If she wants to be on air talent she's going to have to get a little more energetic.

Good to see you and CT broke out your favorite pastel button-ups for the warm weather in Miami.
