FanHouse Is the No. 1 Sports Blog, Goes Mobile
Back when we launched FanHouse in September and I declared that it would "become the largest, finest sports blogging network ever assembled," it wouldn't have been a stretch to accuse me of smoking some of the Playmaker's finest. On second thought, I might have actually been hitting the pipe, because there's no way to even quantify superlatives like "largest" and "finest." That said, in just five months, FanHouse has become the most-popular sports blog on the web. That's right, peep our Excel spreadsheet: 7.3 million page views in January ...
That's 300,000 more than Deadspin, the previous/people's champ, and -- check out our trendline -- we're just getting warmed up. Of course, Deadspin is just one man (or a few men, whatever), and FanHouse is many, but this is cause for celebration. And it is Friday, so I'll be getting offline any minute now. But first, THANK YOU! to everyone who's been reading and commenting on FanHouse, everyone who's been linking to FanHaus (and there are lots of you) and, most importantly, everyone who's been blogging in the 'House; having this group of writers together under one roof is astounding and, as the NY Times said, "Hard to beat."
Also, notice in that straight-gangster chart that the pink line represents Authenticated Page Views and the yellow one represents Non-Authenticated Page Views. Authenticated means that the traffic comes from users already using one AOL product or another, so the AOL network and, more specifically, AOL Sports, drove 4 million page views towards Fannie Hou in January alone. They're embracing this medium -- the blog game -- moreso than any other mainstream sports site, so, kudos to them, my Dulles, VA-locked brothers and sisters.
Like I said, I'm off to hoist cerveza now, but that doesn't mean I'm not taking our beloved site with me. Fresh out the kitchen is FanHouse Mobile -- m.aolsportsblog.com; note the "m." -- with a clean, stripped-down experience that should fit your fix on the go. Check it ...
Hopefully it goes better than that ESPN Mobile thing went for the Worldwide Leader. Lord knows we sunk way less cash into it, but give it a whirl nonetheless and use the comments to offer feedback.
And, again, thank you for making FanHouse such a great, constantly evolving success. Cheers.

I'm still waiting for the NASCAR FanHouse.
You are aware the Daytona 500 is this Sunday, right? -
Hype G, you're too kind.
Monponsett, there are no current plans for a WWE FanHouse. That may or may not change. -
Looks like discarding 99.9% of the Pigskin Bloggers was a good move.
I'll kill if you don't involve me when you make WWE Fanhouse, though. I was sort of offended when you passed on me for hoop and football. I'd be PISSED if you rolled over me on my own idea. -
On behalf of the 3 other people in Montreal that knows about FanHaus, I'd just like to say Thank YOU Mottram, the brain(s?) behind this!

Much like NASCAR, the WWE is a niche market with wildly enthusiastic fans. Ever wonder why Dennis Miller was brought onto MNF? It's because MNF was consistently losing to professional wrestling in the TV ratings.
You are totally sleeping by not making a WWE Fanhouse. Imagine a guy in the street turning down money from a drunken millionaire... that's you, at the moment.
While I'd love the job and am in print here as having developed the idea... I urge you to make a WWE Fanhouse, even without me on board... although that would show the loyalty of a snake, but that's an issue for another comment.
I sort of root for you to succeed, and I'd hate to see you let this big fat cherry float past you.
