DC Sports Bloggers Happy Hour III: We Was Blogrollin'

Meeting up offline with online friends may be sooo Battlestar Galactica, but it can also be a wonderful thing. And so it was on Wednesday night for DC Sports Bloggers Happy Hour III as we had our best turnout ever: 15-20 people, two of whom were actually attractive women!

Nats bloggers galore, On Frozen Blog, the Bog, Leafblower, two members of the KSK mafia, Awful Announcing, FanHouse powerhouse Ryan Wilson, Need More Meat (a.k.a. MDG), With Leather artist 289, DCist sports guy Matt Borque, Daily Sports Haiku (a.k.a. MDT), Comcast SportsNet folks and even Wizznutzz were all up in the Pumphouse, where we honed our social skills by talking in-person rather than via emails, IMs and blog comments. I mean, guys like this just aren't allowed out of the basement that often ...

The steady drip ofbooze helped smooth things over and some of the many highlights included mocking our whiteness, sniffing Jahidi's thongwalking out on a tab, falling for the bartender and, of course, breaking out the pimp gear. Also enjoyed throughout the evening were convincing wins by Georgetown over Cincy (10 straight for the Hoyas) and Maryland over FSU (four straight for the Terps), as well as that crazy dunk by Va. Tech's Deron Washington.

Most of my time was spent on the mingle, talking to as many people as possible before the DJ began spinning top-40 records, which was unfortunate. We also tried coming up with a name for our Washington Post Live TV thing. The leader in the clubhouse is Blogroll (Blog Roll? BlogRoll?), which was blurted out by MDT and seconded by the CSN guys. It's not a bad name but isn't lock stock, so, before you mock it, try coming up with something better or forever hold your peace.

All in all, I had a blast. It's great to have met everyone who made it out. And even though DCSBHH IV isn't on the calendar yet, I'll be sure to let everyone know and try not to schedule it against Ash Wednesday or a Caps game.

Update: Our Washington Post Live TV segment will go by Blog Show, and it debuts Friday, March 23 around 6 p.m.

"Blog Roll" sounds like something that would clog a toilet.

    Try these:

    Blizz-og

    Walkin' The Blog

It's Not Libel If My Blog Doesn't Make Any Money

    Blogger Acid

    Somebody Must Care

Whiter Than Iceland (can anyone name one non-Arenas black blogger? Blogging is like going down on a woman... the black man just don't do it).

Granted, We're In Two Wars... But I Think Nash Just Might Win It All This Year... I'll Write About That, Instead

    Sick-Ducking Hero Worship

    Bloggers. Get. Chicks.

Thanks for the suggestions, MDG. So it's known, the other names I threw out there include:

    BlogCenter
    BTI
    Blog Show
    BogHouse
    Blogging Update

So, yeah, lacking a bit in the creativity department. Help.
