Top 10 Stories in Sports Blog History

"'Stories reverberate in the sports blogging echo chamber because the medium is so immediate and unedited," says Jamie Mottram, AOL's FanHouse editor and Mr. Irrelevant blogger." -- The Chicago Sports Review, 3/6/07

I'm not posting Matt Wood's top 10 stories in sports blogging history because he quotes me (although he does make me sound like a delusional J-school professor in the process), no, I'm posting it because any list starting with USC Song Girl Ass and ending with You're With Me, Leather is worth spreading the word about. That said, and even though Agent Zero and the Sex Cannon make the cut, Wood snubs my favorite sports blogging story of all-time ...

Deadspin's drunk Ben Roethlisberger photos are my No. 1 not so much for the enduring images themselves as for the impeccable timing with which they were posted. It was the Media Day before Super Bowl XL, and, while thousands of sports journalists huddled in post-apocalyptic Detroit, the hottest item of the week -- moreso than Joey Porter and Jerramy Stevens' verbal beef -- came from the comfort of Will Leitch's Brooklyn apartment; where he was probably sitting on his couch, cozy and comfortable. Now that's a blog story to hang your hat on.

Regardless, kudos to Mr. Wood a.k.a. Wood-Tang on the excellent concept and execution. Job well done, and here is another site are more sites taking notice ...

If I am the lesbian cheerleader, I shall be here. I realized a hot lesbian cheerleader on http://lesbianconnect.com and I am touched by her attitude to sport, so I get to know many kinds of sport and become a wonderful sporter in my local sport club.

Agreed. The Lesbian Cheerleaders should be here, certainly over USC Song Girl Ass, in my opinion.

Also, Yay's Orange Roundie Saga wouldn't be a bad addition.

Whoa -- YAY's right. This list doesn't seem complete without the lesbian cheerleaders.

How are the lesbian Panthers cheerleaders not only not number one, but not even on the list?
