Washington Post Live's Blog Show Debuts Tonight

I was debating whether to post about this or not because a) it could be an unmitigated disaster and b) my headshot is ghastly, but whatever. WPL's Blog Show, starring Agent Steinz and yours truly, premieres tonight at 6 p.m. in the D.C.-B'more region. That's tonight at 6 p.m. as in six hours from now. So if my writing seems riddled with the impotency of haste and anxiety, that's because it is.

So here's the deal, which I feel the need to repeat since I don't quite believe it myself: Comcast SportsNet is handing the keys to the kingdom to Bog Man Dan and I for 10 to 15 minutes of, I don't know, blog TV every week. Tonight's edition, loosely scripted but airing live (killer combo!), includes something we're calling TWiB Notes (This Week in Baseball, what up!), our first-ever guest, a thing about cheese and then, the grand finale, our YouTube Moment of the Week (Daily Show, holler!). Should be quite a production ... and only after one rehearsal.

So tune in tonight or don't. I'm sure it'll end up on YouTube forever anyway, especially if it's bad. It would kind of defeat the purpose of there being a Blog Show if it didn't and wasn't. Think good thoughts.

Update: Washington Post Live -- the larger program with real reporters and everything that Blog Show resides within -- airs from 5-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. They told me to say that. See? I'm already on my way to being a talking head (or talking meat puppet, as Bob used to call them).

Update No. 2: Blog Show No. 1 is in the can, and, aside from the technical difficulties, it wasn't a total nightmare (even if Steinz would have you think otherwise). I'll post video when I have it.

Impressive debut for the Blog Show...congrats.  It's a wonderful alternative to any Around the Horn re-air on ESPNews...

I fully expect a shout out on the debut. If you guys interview Mata on TWIB make sure he can comprehend Steinz's mumbles.
