FanHouse Nears 10 Million Hits Per Month, Keeps Growing

Back in February when I announced that FanHouse is the No. 1 sports blog and Dan Shanoff-approved, Peter Bean from Burnt Orange Nation had this to say:

"Honestly, this blog is getting damn near impossible to check in on. It's one self-congratulatory "Aw, shucks! Look at this shout-out!" after another. Remember when you used to write about sports?"

Peter, if you're still checking in, you may want to skip this post, or at least avert your eyes for a moment ...

Internal AOL Spreadsheet! Corporate Transparency! So Hot Right Now!

Thanks to my man John Clifford Ness, that chart represents FanHouse usage ticking ever skyward, from over 7 million hits in January to over 8 million in February to over 9 million in March. Also, last week was FanHouse's best week ever (nearly 3 million) and Wednesday was FanHouse's best day ever (over 1 million). As always, many thanks to everyone who's using the site and spreading the word, especially via links, which would be worth their weight in gold bullion if they weighed anything at all.

Now, an announcement: FanHouse is expanding into the worlds of baseball, race car drivin' and hockey. Check out these new sites and their respective top-shelf contributors (sites from whence they came in parenthesis):

· MLB FanHouse: Matt Watson (Detroit Bad Boys), PostmanE and PostmanR (We Are the Postmen), Red and Denton (Surviving Grady), Tom Fornelli (Foul Balls), Mullet (Metstradamus), Pat Lackey (Where Have You Gone, Andy Van Slyke?; great name), Larry Brown (Larry Brown Sports), Nick, Jon and B (The Dugout) and Marcel Mutoni (Slam Online)

· NASCAR FanHouse: Tall Glass of Milk (Answer This) and Geoffrey Miller (Rough Clarity)

· NHL FanHouse: Eric McErlain (Off Wing Opinion), James Mirtle (James Mirtle), Tom Luongo (Sabre Rattling), Jon "J.P." Press (Japers' Rink), Jes Golbez (Hockey Rants) and Greg Wyshynski (Jester's Quart)

Some of these folks have been at it since February and are really hitting full stride now that baseball has begun, NASCAR is well underway and playoff beards are growing (see FanHouse bloggers T-Mantz and LB). So please check them out and let me know what hits and what misses. Sometimes I'm so deep in it that I can't see the forest for the trees, and there's always room and hope for improvement.

The MLB and NHL Fanhouses were very welcome additions to the site. Fanhouse has been my first stop in the morning for a while now, but having nearly every sport most people care about has made it even better. Congrats on all the success, your product is really deserving of it.
