FanHouse Memo: Michael Vick Is Our Reggie Bush
Aside from myself, the only other AOL guy focused on FanHouse is John Clifford Ness, and each weekday he sends email to tons industry types showcasing our site's best posts from the day that was. He also publishes these emails to his blog under the tag 'FanHaus AM Memo.' It's one way we market our corner of the sports blogosphere, and since John is getting his Sideways on in northern California right now, I'm handling the duties this week. The memo usually contains upwards of 50 links, so I'm just going to drop my ultra-favorites on you, along with a smattering of commentary ...
· You know how Yahoo! Sports seems to have a vested interest in bringing Reggie Bush down for breaking the rules during his time at USC? Well, FanHouse has made 15-plus posts about the Michael Vick dog fighting fiasco over the past week, and I'm not sure anyone's noticing. Side note: Clinton Portis' comments on this situation were topic 1A for DC sports talk yesterday, so I can't imagine what the swirl must be like down in Atlanta.· The Lottery is tonight. MJD lets you know who to root for and The Big Lead tells you who has the most to lose. Personally, I love having both of those guys contributing to the same site. Also, tonight's Lottery will be live blogged and expect a mock draft shortly thereafter, both on NBA FanHouse.
· Come to think of it, Junior Griffey would make for a great logo.
· Longform Shoals implores LeBron to lose, and The King obliges.
· Roger Clemens is rocking the Madden Cruiser.
· The Steelers O-line coach is that guy in your office who forwards porn to everyone.
· Someone get Kenny Mayne the Obama/Arenas shirt.
· Without a catch-all blog like FanHouse, I'd really be missing out on the personal lives of ballplayers. Cases in point, Justin Miller's butt tatt and Tyler Clippard's MySpace.
· NHL FanHouse calls Stan "The Maven" Fischler an "Ass Clown." I usually like to throw a "no-talent" in there as well.
· Enjoy T-Pizzle's playground bounce pass.
· Two of our bloggers were at the Caps' unveiling of their top-five pick from last spring, and one scores an interview.
· This must be embarrassing for ESPN, although I can't say I blame them.
Finally, as he did with the De La Hoya-Mayweather fight (523 comments!), FanHouse heavyweight Michael David Smith will be live blogging Saturday night's UFC 71, starring the rematch of Chuck Liddell and Quinton Jackson. I've never watched ultimate fighting (like, ever), but this 3:40 primer gives all the backstory I need and makes me want to tune in. Enjoy.

You know one of my dreams is that these media people will write you back and be like "F*ck all the Fanhouse writers.... that b*tch in the comments section is hilarious."
That probably isn't going to happen, though... but the potential is there. -
Dude. I have forgotten to tell you. I'm an AOLer now. Which explains my lack of blog commenting. If you look outside the HQ at 5:30 I'll be playing kickball. When you expand out and take over I want in.

As for Vick, the guy seems to have developed a 'tude over time and it's not one that will help him in his carreer. Remember the "Fuck-off" finger at the Falcons fans incident? Falcon fans, not the most supportive of fans, will not forget Vick's "Finger Incident." Nor will they forget or forgive his lousey judgment, inability to read defense or put the ball where it's supposed to be. He runs okay, but when the dust settles ... the Vicks of today will be history as teams, once again begin their search for another Montanna, Marino, Kelly or an Elway.
So, yo, Vick ... remember Glanville's description of the NFL as "Not For Long" if u keep screwing up. The senior Mora called Vick a "coach-killer." Truer words have never been spoken. Peace out. www.therealbigdawg.com
