Introducing the Blog Show Drinking Game
During my senior year in college, my buddies and I got in deep with Dawson's Creek. I don't know how or why it happened, but every Wednesday night we'd settle in with a six-pack and turn on the WB to play our very own Dawson's Creek drinking game. The rules were simple: drink whenever Pacey was cool, Dawson was a dork, Joey was hot and Jen was a slut. Usually our sixers were done by the end of the hour and we were ready to begin studying (or not).
That was eight years ago, and, thankfully, I haven't had experience with a TV show drinking game since. That is, until this very morning when I got an email about the new Rumors and Rants' Blog Show drinking game! Because our program airs at 6 p.m. on Friday nights, this makes perfect sense for a certain portion of the population. And based on my math, if played properly, the average show will have you taking 93 sips and five chugs over the course of 11 to 13 minutes, so you might want to stick to light beer (or not).
The rules are spot-on and there are tons of them, but here are some of my favorites:
· Dan swings and misses badly on a one-liner, bringing the show to a screeching halt.
· Jamie uncomfortably, yet smoothly segues into another topic. (Ex. "Speaking of keeping your groin in check...")
· They talk at the same time.
· Jamie looks at his card.
· Dan asks if they can start the show over.

Steinz and I should make TV history by playing along during our next taping. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to take the edge off, right? Either way, our eternal gratitude goes out to Ryan Phillips and the Rumors and Rants crew, who are sure to get a ding on Blog Show No. 11.

diaperdrinker, you are too kind. Not at all.

If I had a dollar for every time somebody started a drinking game based on a blog show I would be a millionaire. Not at all. People have to watch the show in order to play the drinking game. There lies the problem.
