Introducing FanHouse Columns and Das FanHaüs
It's been awhile since last bragging about FanHouse success (see below), so it's time for an update on our little corporate sports blog that could: we're covering every sport from NFL to UFC, the roster has 60-plus brilliant writers, traffic increased in May for the seventh straight month and the site is poised to top 20 million page views for the first time in June. Whew. That was a lot of boasting for one sentence. I'm actually tired from patting myself on my own ass.
We're not done yet though, as there are a few site-wide improvements and innovations in the queue, as evidenced by two recent efforts that you'll hopefully come to know and love:
1) FanHouse columns, namely The Debriefing and Longform Shoals -- The former is MJD's daily piece covering everything that's on his mind and should be on yours. It publishes at 9 a.m. ET Monday-Friday and goes well with coffee and cigarettes or donuts or what have you. The latter is Bethlehem Shoals' twice-weekly NBA column that's as well-written and poignant as anything you'd care to read. And if you don't know Shoals from FanHouse, you should know him from Free Darko, which created the fantastic image displayed on the right. Both columns are featured prominently and regularly on AOL Sports, a mainstream maneuver that represents a giant leap for blogkind.2) Das FanHaüs, which is manned by Every Day Should Be Saturday superstar Orson Swindle -- This joint is fresh out the kitchen, as it just "launched" over the weekend and can be described as Orson's irreverent look at the world of international sports. Basically, it's the only site I know of that's dedicated to Vinko Bogataj. No, I didn't know who that was either, but I wholeheartedly endorse Das FanHaüs and assure you that a visit will leave you entertained. How can you not smile at ping-pong rap and wheelchair fencing?
This shite-hot Das FanHaüs artwork was created by AOL's Elliott Thompson.
