The Perfect Storm: Eastern Motors, Redskins and Dan Steinberg
Three years ago, I posted the lyrics to the ubiquitous-in-DC Eastern Motors commercial jingle, which is still on my iPod to this day. There were no photos or videos or decent writing involved, but fast forward to 2007 and we're in a far different, better place. This is the time where the Washington Post employs a full-time sports blogger to maintain a world-class sports blog -- DC Sports Bog -- and Comcast SportsNet airs regular blogging and bogging segments on the talking picture box.
It's this world that the good folks at Eastern Motors welcomed with open arms at the shoot for their next commercial earlier this week. Agent Steinz was there to document the proceedings, which prominently featured Santana Moss, Antwaan Randle El, Jason Campbell, Willis McGahee and, of course, Chief Zee. He's written about it all week on the Bog (my favorite post concerned JC's "bobos"), but this is the coup de grace, 140 seconds of edited video highlights from the shoot:
Goodness that was special, especially Randle El talking about "all the boogie woogie." But Steinz can't take all the credit, as this video is episode 20 in a regular segment called Bog TV, produced by Adam Littlefield a.k.a. Littles a.k.a. The Dude Abides. He's doing the lord's work over there at Comcast SportsNet, namely pioneering the televised frontier with the left-of-the-dial magic that's happening here online. You know, like praising the Eastern's jingle and the athletes who love it.
