Hearing Shout Out Louds

MASN's Nationals Coverage Is Driving Me to Drink

So Mrs. Irrelevant is out of the house and I'm trying to post up with a cold beverage, the black lab and a Nats game. I grab some Euro lager from a "Beers of the World" 12-pack that I got for Christmas, sink into the couch and turn on MASN only to see this:

Just a frozen screen capture from those lame Corona commercials that make me hate wherever I am when they come on because I'm not in freaking paradise. And two hours later, I'm still seeing it. Meanwhile, Washington's up 3-1 on Cleveland in the eighth thanks to yet another improbable quality start from Matt Chico. What does MASN's web site have to say about this debacle?

"The Washington Nationals host the Cleveland Indians in an interleague series this weekend. BE THERE with MASN on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m."

Hey MASN, I'm trying, but YOU SUCK. Thank you very little.

Update: Chris Needham from Capitol Punishment (a must-read for all Nats fans) informs me that this particular game was broadcast on WDCA 20 and blacked out on MASN. Apparently, this happens every other weekend or so. Nice of MASN to inform their viewers who made the effort to not only tune in but also check their web site. (I hope you notice the sarcasm, because I'm laying it on pretty thick).

Anyway, the Nats blew the lead and then mounted a comeback in the ninth, only to have it squashed by an unreal baserunning blunder by Nook Logan, who was lucky to be on base to begin with. My Saturday night's going pretty well.

Update No. 2: More reasons MASN sucks.

Naturally I just assumed that my television was acting Comcastic (yet again). Just before I flipped out and screamed at someone on the phone I switched to channel 20.

Does Tom Paciorek still do Nats games?

Also, living where you do, how can you watch baseball without killing yourself?
