Disagree With the Top Five Athletes in Your City

With a serious tip of the pen to Agent Steinz for inspiration, FanHouse ranked the five most popular athletes in America's top 25 sporting cities. For the most part, our usual suspects took the liberties of naming the five, but we had some special guests along the way. For that I thank Matt Ufford (With Leather), Matt Mosely (Hashmarks), Michael Rand (Randball), Unsilent Majority (Kissing Suzy Kolber) and Dan Shanoff (uh, Dan Shanoff), who handled the duties for Seattle, Dallas, Minneapolis, DC and NY, respectively.

Of course, it's DC that captures my utmost attention, and I can't say I disagree with The Maj's list. The only thing I'd probably do is replace Hibbert with Zimmerman, but numbers one through four -- Arenas, Portis, Cooley and Ovechkin -- are right on. And Jason Campbell will dominate a year from now.

Anyway, head on over to agree or disagree, and don't forget to click through the pretty pictures. Case in point:

Scene from Gil's 25th, which I somehow attended. Revisit the soiree.

Zimmy WILL be five best, but he's on his second full season in the league and neither has been Ovechkin-esque... dude's hitting .247 this season and still makes too many throwing errors. He certainly hasn't played like the best player on the Nats this year. He's Mr. Potential, but is he better than legit All-Star Butler or city-grown Hibbert? Not yet.

There are more Nats fans in this town than G'town fans (source: me), so I'll go with Zimmerman over Hibbert. I may go with Caron and JC over Hibbert too.

    And you'd be wrong.
