Hearing Slick Rick's 'Children's Story'

D-Wade Was Fouled

Stayed up late watching Game 5 and was rewarded with an OT thriller that pretty much had it all, including the entire Dallas organization -- from the owner to the coach to the star to the fans -- crying foul over officiating. The most controversial call was made on Nowitzki with 1.9 seconds left, sending Wade to the line for the game-winning free throws, his 20th and 21st of the night. Replays showed that Dirk didn't foul D-Wade, but it sure looks like Devin Harris did...

Thanks to True Hoop for the pic, excellent liveblog action last night and stellar commentary throughout these playoffs. Here's to hoping it goes 7. At this point I don't even care who wins, it's just been an outstanding postseason and the longer it lasts the better.

Bonus: Mark Cuban was rockin' the Stackhouse jersey for the game in protest/tribute and was petulance personifed at the end of the contest...

"Cuban ran onto the court and screamed at official Joe DeRosa, then went to the scorer's table and stared down NBA commissioner David Stern and other league officials. Cuban then went up the tunnel toward their aisle and kept screaming and staring."

Mark Cuban

Update: The other controversial call I didn't focus on here is Josh Howard calling the timeout that forced Dallas to inbound the ball from their own baseline rather than past halfcourt with 1.9 left. That said, Awful Announcing reminds us that this is not the first timeout gaffe of Howard's career.

Dirk's tantrum was so hilarious. I hope it spurs him on to play in Games 6 and 7 like he played in the West. Conf. Finals.
