Distal femur benign nonossifying febroma
So the actual name of the cyst is a benign nonossifying febroma. As it turns out this is the most common cyst a child can have. They occur only in children. They don't have to do anything with the cyst unless it is in a place that they worry will fracture. We are going to follow up with an orthopedic surgeon soon. I'm slightly worried that we will need surgery since she is in pain. We'll see I suppose.
I'm worn out. There is entirely too much to think about, and Emma's cyst just one of them!

I'm glad it is a common and benign cyst, but I hate that she is in pain. I hope they don't have to do surgery. Is it possible that they could drain the cyst or get rid of it with medication? Take care!

I'm so thankful that Emma's cyst is benign...but so sorry she is in pain. I will be keeping her in my prayers. Bless her sweet little heart....your's too, Mom.

I am so glad it is benign! I know how difficult it is, still, when our children are in pain...I have three of my own and that is a tough thing to deal with. I will be keeping a positive thought that all is better soon.

I'm glad it's just a cyst and one that's so common and rarely done anything about. I pray that she doesn't need surgery, but that if she does you feel confident in the surgeon and have peace over it.
God Bless
