Power Rankings: Week 6

I think it's safe to say the season is in full swing, and finally things are starting to settle down. Four of the top teams and four of the bottom teams are the same as last week. The sixth edition of AOL's MLB Power Rankings are out, brought to you, the people, by me, your humble editor/producer. I'll be putting these rankings out every Monday/Tuesday during the regular season, and each week I'll explain a little bit of my rationale and give the people a chance to basically tell me why I'm wrong. Please be gentle. If you make a good argument, I'm more than willing to address it during the later on in the week.

Surprises, General Oddities and Tough Calls

- I feel like it's a certainty I'll get plenty of hate mail for ranking the Brewers just third (seriously your team hasn't been to the playoffs since the Reagan administration, just be happy), but fact of the matter is they play in the worst division in baseball and they haven't played a lot of tough teams yet.

- Mets and Braves, Mets and Braves. We've been doing this dance all year long, but the Mets have a much, much better run differential and had a better week, dominating the D'backs, so the edge goes to them for now.

- What to do with the Yankees? I pushed them way up this week because they went 5-1 and got Roger Clemens. They're going to move fast as they get healthier.

- Had the same quandary with the Cubs, but they have a little more to prove. Still have to like their long-term chances with that offense.

- The Nationals had a real chance to get out of last week because the Royals have been pretty, well, just pretty bad, of course Washington responded with an 0-5 week. Them's the breaks.

When the Braves stop winning with or without homers, then you should take them out of the top 5.  They have 5 guys with 20 or more rbis and three possibly 4 legitamate closers.  Come October, last years hiccup will be a thing of the past.  Gotta like the way the kids are playing like seasoned veterans.

I have to agree with your clarification of your statement but you have to agree that the nationals and phillies have pretty much become the laughers of the NL East.

3 at mets 4 at phi 3 home vs min 3 at dodgers 3 at sd 3 home braves that is a tough stretch for the brewers

except for the Mets I would not call the nationals and phillies a TOUGH road stretch by any means.
