Power (Rankings) to the People: Week 25 Mailbag

Before I delve into the Power Rankings for Week 26, time to dig into the comments from last week's rankings and give the people a little feedback so they know where I was coming from, and where I'll be going in the future.

Boston and New York "buy" in,..Cleveland raises their own catfish.

Can we cut this type of sentiment? It just isn't true anymore. Jon Papelbon, Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis, Clay Buchholz, Jacoby Ellsbury, Manny Delcarmen, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Andy Pettitte, Derek Jeter, Joba Chamberlain, Ian Kennedy, Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera, Robinson Cano and Mariano Rivera say hello. And then add a "you're just wrong." Be happy your team is in the postseason, and very much a threat to both Boston and New York.

amen. look out for the tribe. got the pitching, and enough offense to do it all.

If I had to place money on one team to win it all, and that's a really bad idea if you are a gambler, by the way, I'd pick the Indians. I've been on the bandwagon all year long, though. I picked them to win the Central.

Give me a break, the NL is not the weaker league.  And the Cubs are certainly not # 10 in the power rankings.  They are definitely peaking at the right time.  They are hitting and pitching and fielding like a World Series contender.

I like the way Chicago is playing right now, but there's no way you can make a legitimate case to me that the Cubbies belong near the top five. And the NL is a heck of a lot weaker. An 83-win team in the American League at this stage would have already been eliminated from postseason contention.

You must be from the East Coast, the best teams in baseball right now are from the NL West. To place the Colorado Rockies consistantly behind the Cubs in the power rankings prove that you no nothing about baseball outside of the Red Sox and Yankee's. Both very good teams, but old, and will be swept by Arizona in the World series, that is if either can manage to beat the Indians and get there. Arizona is the best team in baseball right now ( Colorado is a close second) and are the team to beat. The team to fear, even for Arizona, is the Colorado Rockies. The rockies line up 1-6 might be the best line-up baseball has seen in many years and the pitching staff is improving every outing.

Ah yes, the infamous East Coast bias accusation. Spare me. I like both the Rockies and the Diamondbacks (who I actually picked to win the World Series at the beginning of the season -- stick that in your East Coas bias and smoke it), but there's nothing biased about the fact that Arizona has allowed more runs than it has scored this season! As for the Rockies and their vaunted one through six order? I'll take Damon-Jeter-Abreu-A-Rod-Matsui-Posada. Thanks much. The team that should be feared in the NL West is the Padres, unfortunatelythey aren't playing well right now.

The Indians have been great this year and C.C. Sabathia is the best itcher in the league and should win the Cy Young.  There is not a pitcher in any league this year that pitched ten straight games and allowed two runs or less.  Unfortunately, he only got four wins.  Probably will not win the Cy Young--why- he does not pitch for Boston or New York.
