July 13th, 2008 Tournament
The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly bass tournament out of The Lake Osborne Chain. Once again another tough tournament. Water levels? Heat? Weather? Spraying of Vegetation? Your guess is as good as ours but if you know where the fish are...feel free to contact out club.
First place was awarded to the team of Mike Madden (boater) with 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 7 oz and partner Shannon Ghettie (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 1 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 9 lbs 2 oz.
Second place went to Darrell Waite (boater) with 1 fish weighing 0 lbs 13 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 5 lbs 12 oz for a total team weight of 6 lbs 9 oz.
Third place was Tom Brown (boater) with 2 fish weighing 3 lb 10 oz and partner Jeff Helms (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 1 lbs 15 oz for a total team weight of 5 lbs 9 oz.
The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Jeff Todd wi th a fish weighing 5 lbs 12 oz.
Our next tournament sight needs to be discussed ASAP. The date will be August 17th 2008. Don't forget our meeting on August 14, 2008 at 7pm at the RPB Rec Center. The Club welcomes all new members who joined last meeting. Its great to have you.

July 4th 2008 Red White And Blue 18th Annual Kids And Family Fishing Tournament
On July 4th 2008, The Royal Palm Bassmasters hosted the 18th Annual Red White And Blue Kids And Familiy Fishing Tournament in the Western Communities.
This year was by far the biggest and best year to date. There were aproximatly 200 kids and family members on hand enjoying a day of fishing and tons of givaways provided by The Royal Palm Bassmasters, Bass Pro Shops, Republic Services, Nations Bank, Duffy's Sports Bar, Loxahatchee Bait And Tackle and Gambler Baits.
For the first year ever, every kid who participated walked away with not only giveaways but also some sort of door prize; from a fishing rod and reel to a tackle box or a hat, water bottle or lures. There were many fish caught in each catagory and plenty of valuble information being shared by the Bassmaster members.
Special Thanks to all of the sponsors for their very generous donations. Thanks to the Observer Newspaper, Town Crier, Royal Palm Forum and The Palm Beach Post for their great pictures and articles. Most of all thatnks to the Royal Palm Bassmasters members who participated in making this day a success and helping put this event together. Hope to see everyone next year.

June 15th, 2008 Tournament
The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly bass tournament out of The Sawgrass Recreational Area off of US 27. It seems to have been another tough tournament with only one angler catching a 5 fish limit for the day.
First place was awarded to the team of Walt Zajkowski (boater) with 3 fish weighing 2 lbs 0 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 5 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 7 lbs 11 oz.
Second place went to Stu Shoemaker (boater) with 4 fish weighing 5 lbs 4 oz and his daughter (guest) with 1 fish weighing 0 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 5 lbs 15 oz.
Third place was Mike Madden (boater) with 1 fish weighing 0 lb 14 oz and partner Tim Meehan (non-boater) with 3 fish weighing 2 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 3 lbs 9 oz.
The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Jeff Todd wi th a fish weighing 1 lbs 12 oz.
Our next tournament will be out of The Lake Osborne Chain on July 13th 2008. Don't forget our meeting on July 10, 2008 at 7pm at the RPB Rec Center. Bring any ideas and tackle you have to donate for the July 4th event.

May 18th, 2008 Tournament
The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly bass tournament out of Slim's Fish Camp, Belle Glade on Lake Okeechobee. With the water levels dropping...the fish bite was not as good as it has been in the past couple of months.
First place was awarded to the team of Darrell Waite (boater) with 1 fish weighing 1 lbs 10 oz and partner Bill Davis (non-boater) with 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 9 oz for a total team weight of 9 lbs 3 oz.
Second place went to Shawn Lennon (boater) with 5 fish weighing 6 lbs 1 oz and partner Fred Cohen (non-boater) with no fish weighed in. Total team weight of 6 lbs 1 oz.
Third place was Mike O'Connor (boater) with 3 fish weighing 5 lb 9 oz and partner Jim Caughey (non-boater) with no fish weighed in. Total team weight of 5 lbs 9 oz.
The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Bill Davis wi th a fish weighing 3 lbs 4 oz.
Individual heaviest weight:
First Place was Bill Davis, 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 9 oz.
Second Place was Shawn Lennon, 5 fish weighing 6 lbs 1 oz.
Third Place was Mike O'Connor, 3 fish weighing 5 lb 9 oz.
Our next tournament will be out of Sawgrass Recreation area off US 27 on June 15th "Fathers Day" 2008. Don't forget our meeting on June 12, 2008 at 7pm at the RPB Rec Center. Bring any ideas and tackle you have to donate for the July 4th event.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament on April 12 th & 13 th, 2008 on Lake Kissimmee out the State Park.
First place was awarded to the team of Walt Zajkowski (boater) with 4 fish weighing 4 lbs 15 oz and partner Tone Young (non-boater) with 3 fish weighing 4 lbs 14 oz for a total team weight of 9 lbs 13 oz.
Second place went to Shawn Lennon (boater) with 2 fish weighing 8 lbs 5 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 0 fish weighed in for a total team weight of 8 lbs 5 oz.
Third place was Phil Northrop (boater) with 3 fish weighing 4 lb 14 oz and partner Irene Northrop (non-boater) with 0 fish weighed in for a total team weight of 4 lbs 14 oz.
The “Big Fish” winner for Saturday was Shawn Lennon with a fish weighing 7 lbs 7 oz.
The "Big Fish" winner for Sunday was Mike Gershberg with a fish weighing 3 lbs 2 oz.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, May 8th but our next tournament wont be until May 18th out of J & S on Lake Okeeechobee. Fish On.......Mike "Gersh"

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament on March 16 th, 2008 out of Clewiston on Lake Okeechobee.
First place was awarded to the team of Walt Zajkowski (boater) with 5 fish weighing 13 lbs 9 oz and partner Jeff Helms (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 9 lbs 6 oz for a total team weight of 22 lbs 15 oz.
Second place went to Mike O'Connor (boater) with 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 0 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 7 lbs 15 oz for a total team weight of 14 lbs 15 oz.
Third place was Shawn Lennon (boater) with 5 fish weighing 11 lb 5 oz and partner Bill Davis (non-boater) with 2 fish weighing 2 lbs 8 oz for a total team weight of 13 lbs 13 oz.
NOTE: Phil and Irene Northrop was DQ'ed due to showing up 2 hours late for take-off but had a 9 fish sack weighing 18 lbs 1 oz.
The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Walt Zajkowski with a fish weighing 4 lbs 14 oz.
Individual heaviest weight:
First Place was Walt Zajkowski, 5 fish weighing 13 lbs 9 oz.
Second Place was Shawn Lennon, 5 fish weighing 11 lbs 5 oz.
Third Place was Jeff Helms, 5 fish weighing 9 lb 6 oz.
Our next tournament will be out of Camp Mack on Lake Kissimmee, April 12 & 13 2008. Don't forget our meeting on April 10, 2008 at 7pm at a restaurant to be determinedin the next few days.

February 17, 2008 Tournament
The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament on February 17 th, 2008 out of Weasel Trail on US 27. The fishing was extremely tough with many anglers never getting a bite. Last time at this destination the average number of fish per boat was 50. This year there were only 10 fish weighted in by 4 anglers.
First place was awarded to the team of Mike Madden (boater) with 4 fish weighing 10 lbs 0 oz and partner Jim Caughey (non-boater) with 0 fish weighing 0 lbs 0 oz for a total team weight of 10 lbs 0 oz.
Second place went to Dave Wise (boater) with 4 fish weighing 3 lbs 15 oz and partner Fred Cohen (non-boater) with 0 fish weighing 0 lbs 0 oz for a total team weight of 3 lbs 15 oz.

2007 END OF THE YEAR AWARD PICNIC
On Sunday, January 6, 2008 The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their "End Of The Year Awards Picnic" for the 2007 fishing season. Families and friends all showed up for a sunny day of BBQ and conversation, most likely about the one that got away. The picnic is held yearly at Todd Robner Park on the water in La Mancha. The Bassmasters fish monthly tournaments throughout the year to gain individual points, as well as bragging rights, that will go towards winning the end of the year awards presented by the club.
The end of the year award results are as follows:

Non-Boater Angler Of The Year.........Tone Young
Classic Champion.........Mike Gershberg
Rookie Of The Year.........Jeff Martin
Most Total Weight.........Mike Gershberg

Thanks to each and every club member and their families for making this another great year of fishing, friendship and fun. We wouldn't have a club without you.
The club is open to the public and excepting both men and women boaters and non-boaters. You do not have to live in Royal Palm Beach to join. Come join the fun of a family oriented yet friendly competitive club.
The meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at the Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center at 7 PM. The tournament takes place that Sunday.

Second place went to Mike Gershberg (boater) with 5 fish weighing 11 lbs 9 oz and partner Bill Davis (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 10 lbs 10 oz for a total team weight of 22 lbs 3 oz.
Third place was Tex Miller (boater) with 0 fish weighed in and partner Tim Meehan (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 14 lbs 12 oz for a total team weight of 14 lbs 12 oz.
The “Big Fish” and "Lunker Fund" winner for the tournament was Tim Meehan with a fish weighing 7 lbs 13 oz.

First Place was Tim Meehan, 5 fish weighing 14 lbs 12 oz.
Second Place was Dave Wise, 5 fish weighing 14 lbs 0 oz.

December 15 & 16, 2007 Classic Tournament
On December 15th and 16th, 2007.......The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their end of year "Classic Championship" and Monthly Tournament on the Lake Osborne Chain.
The "Classic Championship" title was awarded to Mike Gershberg with a total 2 day weight of 26 lbs 1 oz. Saturdays weight being 5 fish for 14 lbs 6 oz and Sundays weight being 5 fish for 11 lbs 11 oz.
Team Tournament Results: (2 days)
First place was awarded to (boater) Mike Gershberg with 10 fish weighing 26 lbs 1 oz and partner (non-boater-draw) with 5 fish weighing 8 lbs 11 oz...Total team weight being 34 lbs 12 oz.
Second place went to (boater) Mike O'Connor with 9 fish weighing 17 lbs 8 oz and partner (non-boater) Tone Young with 10 fish weighing 14 lbs 3 oz...Total team weight being 26 lbs 10 oz.
Third place was (boater) Stuart Shoemaker with 8 fish weighing 14 lbs 12 oz and partner (non-boater) Maria Shoemaker with 5 fish weighing 8 lbs 11 oz...Total team weight being 23 lbs 7 oz.
The "Big Fish" winner on Saturday was Phil Northrop....4 lbs 9 oz.
The "Big Fish" winner on Sunday was Mike Gershberg....4 lbs 10 oz.
Individual Heaviest Weight :
1st Place was Mike Gershberg with 10 fish weighing 26 lbs 1 oz.
2nd Place was Phil Northrop with 9 fish weighing 17 lbs 8 oz.
3rd Place was Stuart Shoemaker with 8 fish weighing 14 lb 12 oz.
