The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament out of Belle Glade Public Ramp on Lake Okeechobee. We have waited for years for the water to come up but who would have know the fishing was going to go down. For the first time remembered there were only 3 fish brought to the scales. Some never even had a bite all day.

First place was awarded to the team of Ed Singleton (boater) with 0 fish weighing 0 lbs 0 oz and partner Jeff Helms (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 4 lbs 14 oz for a total team weight of 4 lbs 14 oz.

Second place went to Darrell Waite (boater) with 0 fish weighing 0 lbs 0 oz and partner Jim Caughey (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 1 lbs 12 oz for a total team weight of 1 lbs 12 oz.

Third place was Jimmy Trudel (boater) with 0 fish weighing 1 lb 10 oz and partner Judy Trudel (non-boater) with 0 fish weighing 0 lbs 0 oz for a total team weight of 1 lbs 10 oz.

The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Jeff Helms with a fish weighing 4 lbs 14 oz.

Our next tournament will be an away tournament for two days on Lake Istokpoga in Lake Placid.. The date will be October 11th & 12th, 2008. Don't forget our meeting on October 9, 2008 at 7pm at Duffeys Sports Pub. The Club welcomes all new members who joined last meeting. Its great to have you.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament out of J & S Canal on Lake Okeechobee finally finding some bass on another hot Sunday afternoon.

First place was awarded to the team of Mike Madden (boater) with 5 fish weighing 8 lbs 14 oz and partner Jeff Fowler (guest) with 5 fish weighing 5 lbs 14 oz for a total team weight of 14 lbs 12 oz.

Second place went to Walt Zajkowski (boater) with 5 fish weighing 7 lbs 7 oz and partner Shannon Ghettie (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 5 lbs 7 oz for a total team weight of 12 lbs 14 oz.

Third place was Darrell Waite (boater) with 5 fish weighing 8 lb 12 oz and partner Scott McCrea (guest) with 2 fish weighing 2 lbs 2 oz for a total team weight of 10 lbs 14 oz.

The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Phil Northrop with a fish weighing 3 lbs 6 oz.

Our next tournament sight will be at Belle Glade public ramp , on Lake Okeechobee. The date will be September 14th 2008. Don't forget our meeting on September 11, 2008 at 7pm at the RPB Rec Center. The Club welcomes all new members who joined last meeting. Its great to have you.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly bass tournament out of The Lake Osborne Chain. Once again another tough tournament. Water levels? Heat? Weather? Spraying of Vegetation? Your guess is as good as ours but if you know where the fish are...feel free to contact out club.

First place was awarded to the team of Mike Madden (boater) with 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 7 oz and partner Shannon Ghettie (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 1 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 9 lbs 2 oz.

Second place went to Darrell Waite (boater) with 1 fish weighing 0 lbs 13 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 5 lbs 12 oz for a total team weight of 6 lbs 9 oz.

Third place was Tom Brown (boater) with 2 fish weighing 3 lb 10 oz and partner Jeff Helms (non-boater) with 1 fish weighing 1 lbs 15 oz for a total team weight of 5 lbs 9 oz.

The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Jeff Todd with a fish weighing 5 lbs 12 oz.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly bass tournament out of The Sawgrass Recreational Area off of US 27. It seems to have been another tough tournament with only one angler catching a 5 fish limit for the day.

First place was awarded to the team of Walt Zajkowski (boater) with 3 fish weighing 2 lbs 0 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 5 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 7 lbs 11 oz.

Second place went to Stu Shoemaker (boater) with 4 fish weighing 5 lbs 4 oz and his daughter (guest) with 1 fish weighing 0 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 5 lbs 15 oz.

Third place was Mike Madden (boater) with 1 fish weighing 0 lb 14 oz and partner Tim Meehan (non-boater) with 3 fish weighing 2 lbs 11 oz for a total team weight of 3 lbs 9 oz.

The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Jeff Todd with a fish weighing 1 lbs 12 oz.

July 4th 2008 Red White And Blue 18th Annual Kids And Family Fishing Tournament

On July 4th 2008, The Royal Palm Bassmasters hosted the 18th Annual Red White And Blue Kids And Familiy Fishing Tournament in the Western Communities.

This year was by far the biggest and best year to date. There were aproximatly 200 kids and family members on hand enjoying a day of fishing and tons of givaways provided by The Royal Palm Bassmasters, Bass Pro Shops, Republic Services, Nations Bank, Duffy's Sports Bar, Loxahatchee Bait And Tackle and Gambler Baits.

For the first year ever, every kid who participated walked away with not only giveaways but also some sort of door prize; from a fishing rod and reel to a tackle box or a hat, water bottle or lures. There were many fish caught in each catagory and plenty of valuble information being shared by the Bassmaster members.

Special Thanks to all of the sponsors for their very generous donations. Thanks to the Observer Newspaper, Town Crier, Royal Palm Forum and The Palm Beach Post for their great pictures and articles. Most of all thatnks to the Royal Palm Bassmasters members who participated in making this day a success and helping put this event together. Hope to see everyone next year.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly bass tournament out of Slim's Fish Camp, Belle Glade on Lake Okeechobee. With the water levels dropping...the fish bite was not as good as it has been in the past couple of months.

First place was awarded to the team of Darrell Waite (boater) with 1 fish weighing 1 lbs 10 oz and partner Bill Davis (non-boater) with 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 9 oz for a total team weight of 9 lbs 3 oz.

Second place went to Shawn Lennon (boater) with 5 fish weighing 6 lbs 1 oz and partner Fred Cohen (non-boater) with no fish weighed in. Total team weight of 6 lbs 1 oz.

Third place was Mike O'Connor (boater) with 3 fish weighing 5 lb 9 oz and partner Jim Caughey (non-boater) with no fish weighed in. Total team weight of 5 lbs 9 oz.

The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Bill Davis with a fish weighing 3 lbs 4 oz.

Individual heaviest weight:

First Place was Bill Davis, 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 9 oz.

Second Place was Shawn Lennon, 5 fish weighing 6 lbs 1 oz.

Third Place was Mike O'Connor, 3 fish weighing 5 lb 9 oz.

Our next tournament will be out of Sawgrass Recreation area off US 27 on June 15th "Fathers Day" 2008. Don't forget our meeting on June 12, 2008 at 7pm at the RPB Rec Center. Bring any ideas and tackle you have to donate for the July 4th event.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament on April 12 th & 13 th, 2008 on Lake Kissimmee out the State Park.

First place was awarded to the team of Walt Zajkowski (boater) with 4 fish weighing 4 lbs 15 oz and partner Tone Young (non-boater) with 3 fish weighing 4 lbs 14 oz for a total team weight of 9 lbs 13 oz.

Second place went to Shawn Lennon (boater) with 2 fish weighing 8 lbs 5 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 0 fish weighed in for a total team weight of 8 lbs 5 oz.

Third place was Phil Northrop (boater) with 3 fish weighing 4 lb 14 oz and partner Irene Northrop (non-boater) with 0 fish weighed in for a total team weight of 4 lbs 14 oz.

The “Big Fish” winner for Saturday was Shawn Lennon with a fish weighing 7 lbs 7 oz.

The "Big Fish" winner for Sunday was Mike Gershberg with a fish weighing 3 lbs 2 oz.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament on March 16 th, 2008 out of Clewiston on Lake Okeechobee.

First place was awarded to the team of Walt Zajkowski (boater) with 5 fish weighing 13 lbs 9 oz and partner Jeff Helms (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 9 lbs 6 oz for a total team weight of 22 lbs 15 oz.

Second place went to Mike O'Connor (boater) with 4 fish weighing 7 lbs 0 oz and partner Jeff Todd (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 7 lbs 15 oz for a total team weight of 14 lbs 15 oz.

Third place was Shawn Lennon (boater) with 5 fish weighing 11 lb 5 oz and partner Bill Davis (non-boater) with 2 fish weighing 2 lbs 8 oz for a total team weight of 13 lbs 13 oz.

NOTE: Phil and Irene Northrop was DQ'ed due to showing up 2 hours late for take-off but had a 9 fish sack weighing 18 lbs 1 oz.

The “Big Fish” winner for the tournament was Walt Zajkowski with a fish weighing 4 lbs 14 oz.

Individual heaviest weight:

First Place was Walt Zajkowski, 5 fish weighing 13 lbs 9 oz.

Second Place was Shawn Lennon, 5 fish weighing 11 lbs 5 oz.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their monthly tournament on February 17 th, 2008 out of Weasel Trail on US 27. The fishing was extremely tough with many anglers never getting a bite. Last time at this destination the average number of fish per boat was 50. This year there were only 10 fish weighted in by 4 anglers.

First place was awarded to the team of Mike Madden (boater) with 4 fish weighing 10 lbs 0 oz and partner Jim Caughey (non-boater) with 0 fish weighing 0 lbs 0 oz for a total team weight of 10 lbs 0 oz.

The Royal Palm Bassmasters held their year opening tournament on January 13 th, 2008 out of Clewiston on Lake Okeechobee.

Third place was Tex Miller (boater) with 0 fish weighed in and partner Tim Meehan (non-boater) with 5 fish weighing 14 lbs 12 oz for a total team weight of 14 lbs 12 oz.

The “Big Fish” and "Lunker Fund" winner for the tournament was Tim Meehan with a fish weighing 7 lbs 13 oz.
