"I-think-I'm-going-to-throw-up"
The filming of my new puppy training DVD "New Puppy! Now What?" was, for me, a mix of terror, performance anxiety (you should see the outtakes - I invented new curse words!) and eventually, great fun. The photo above was taken on the very first day of filming, during the very first set-up, and although it looks like I'm smiling and enjoying myself, I was ab-so-lutely terrified! This day was my first time being on camera, with very little coaching. I was surrounded by a crew of 8 highly qualified production people, and I didn't want to screw up!

The good news is that after my initial deer-in-headlights feeling (which everyone tells me did not translate to film, and thankfully, I agree) , I started to get it. And really enjoy it. The puppies were amazing, and working with them felt so natural.

My crew also made the filming a joy. They all have TV backgrounds, so the process was seamless, and the final product is TV-quality.

Want to check me out in action? There are a few clips on my web site:

If you've got a new puppy or know someone who does, please consider "New Puppy! Now What?"....I'm biased, but I think it's informative and funny (the puppies "talk"). Oh, and make sure to check out the credits, where you can see a small sampling of my many screw-ups.

Behind the scenes....coaching a pup to counter-surf...very naughty
