It's Greyhound season for me. Forget about the Labs and Goldens, right now
it's all about the Greyhound.
Serena just finished up with me yesterday:

I'll admit that we got off to a shaky start. She's a smart, silly,
energetic dog (and quite possibly the happiest GH I've ever met),
but she was a little overwhelmed by the training process at first. As in:
"You couldn't possibly want me to put my belly on the ground?! It's
cold! And uncomfortable!"
The good news is that she overcame her ladylike distaste for the floor
and started happily plopping into downs. Her recalls? Magnificent.
You should see her run! It's no surprise that she's a pro at my favorite
trick, "go to your bed," since her bed is six inches thick and comfy!
Red is heading into session #3 tomorrow:

He is a total supermodel. He's not really "red" red, but he's got
a lovely coat color. Red has a few....issues. He won't walk down
the stairs in his house, he gets nervous about some of the other
dogs in his neighborhood ("back off!"), and he'd prefer that you NOT
take his toy away when he's playing with it (growl, growl). We've got
lots of ground to cover with Mr. Red, but I'm confident that we'll put a
dent in it. I have my camera all ready to record his first stair descent!
Lastly, there's Breezer:

My crappy little camera is to blame for the milky eyes. Nikon D40,
here I come!
Anyway, Breezer cracks me up because he has no body-awareness.
If he wants something he'll power on you or over you to get it. He's
really eager to work, although he's still having a hard time wrapping his
head around the concept of earning the treat. My treat bag is right at
his nose height, so he spends a great deal of time trying to help himself
to the contents. We're only at week 2, but I expect great things of this guy
in the weeks to come.
I almost forgot about Breezer's "sister" Tess:

Isn't she tres chic in her coat? What a sweetie.
Watch this space for film of Red's victorious stair descent some
day soon (fingers crossed!)
