That's my new client Tucson. I was rather surprised the first time
I saw this angle - most of my canine clients are a bit more, um,
aerodynamic.
There are a number of reasons why it's a good idea to spay or
neuter your pet. The Humane Society sums them up nicely here:
http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/why_you_should_spay_or_neuter_your_pet.html
Tucson's owner and I had a conversation about "the big snip", and
she's seriously considering it. Tucson repeatedly tried to change the
subject.

"I'm good at this training stuff, balls and all!"
My final client of the day really impressed me with his dedication.
His dog Murphy is a big lab who loves to jump on guests (I think that
fact should be included in the lab breed description.)
Murphy's owner hosts poker nights at his house, which means
Murphy gets lots of exposure to male visitors. I tried to envision
my client telling his friends how to properly interact with Murphy
at the front door, and admitted that it might make him feel kind of
geeky to expect them to follow my training rules. I was going on
and on about how it can be hard to get guests to cooperate and
do the right thing, especially guys, and then he stopped me and
pointed to this:

He actually created a document called "Murphy's House Rules"
and posted it by the door! Awesome! You wanna hang out with
Murphy? Follow the rules!
His creativity and dedication to training made my day. Happy Friday.

"Me? Jump? Not a chance."
