New Study Shows Sunspot Cycle Has Negligible Impact: A new study published in this week's issue of the journal Nature indicates that sunspots do alter the amount of energy Earth gets from the sun, but not enough to cause global climate change. (See Don't Blame Sunspots for Global Warming, Study Says," from National Geographic News)
The story says that the study's authors do point out that more complicated solar processes could be affecting the Earth's climate -- but the 11-year sunspot cycle is not.
So, what we currently know about the sun indicates that its internal changes are not causing climate change. Strike down another argument used by skeptics of climate change.
