Weirdest Science Stories of 2006

Many in Top 10 Are Strange, Some Interesting: LiveScience.com has released its list of the 10 Weirdest Science Stories of 2006. These include Steve Irwin's bizarre death-by-stingray, a partial cloak of invisibility and also rats born to mice.

I think the most interesting story is the one about how scientists figured out a way to write on water. Pretty amazing! I don't see how you could make letters form in water and remain there permanently.

Which story do you think is the weirdest of the 10? The most interesting?

You can view a ranking of the stories here on the LiveScience.com site; click on a story link to go to a page where you can vote for it/rank it.

Post your thoughts here.

In my opinion, the weirdest science story of 2006 was the transportation of single-celled animals, like the Star Trek transporter.  That story did not get enough press.
