Crocodile Hunter's Last Film

Discovery to Air Irwin's Last Show Plus a Tribute: Tonight at 8PM ET/PT, the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet will simulcast "Ocean's Deadliest," a documentary that Steve Irwin was filming when he was stabbed by a stingray and died last September. After the 90-minute show, the channels will air a half-hour tribute to Irwin.

I'll record these and watch them later, although I may be able to catch the tribute tonight.

I didn't watch the Crocodile Hunter show much, but it was entertaining and I bet it did inspire loads of children to be animal lovers and possibly grow up to be conservationists -- a good thing, in my opinion.

Will you be watching?  Post your thoughts.  If you read this Jan. 22 or after and you saw the show(s), what did you think?

I did watch the program.  As with everything he did, it was a brilliant show.  He absolute love for the world's animals are so evident in everything he does.  He had such a special gift for combining education with entertainment.  I was disappointed that they did not end the show with a brief explanation about what happened to him during the filming instead of just the memorial photo at the end.  The animal world lost it's best friend.

I also didn't have a chance to see it ; however I'm buying the dvd; he was so special to all of us. Worked hard to send the message to the world about preserving all animals; great & small ! I loved watching him kiss that little lizard. We really lost such a wonderful & and loving man. I try to think of him as not gone;he's still with us; because his memory lives on in all loving humans. They won't stop his programs; even if they are reruns; they are still watched by many. He was so young; like my husband; killed in iraq; many lifes are lost for no Godly purpose; such as wars. Steve died doing what he loved; I just hope he knew how many;many people truly loved him.    Stephanie Taylor

I cannot express the deepest of empathy I have for Steve's family and close friends ... I have the highest of admiration and esteem for Steve and his work.  If I had my way, I certainly would not have taken him at such an early stage of his life, his famly and his work.  But our Heavenly Father, Who knows all things before they happen, and whose plan is the best and His ways are not our ways, knows why and only He has the full understanding of Steve's seemingly untimely death.  One can only guess at His plan but don't try to understand it ... just know that His plan for each of us is planned by Him and has a reason and is for the best.  The world will NEVER forget Steve and I believe that through Steve's passing, his work will be even more remembered by the world and that much more appreciated.  Steve's love and passion for all that he loved ... including his work, his family and his close friends, will be a true example to the world ... one that will never be forgotten and definitely should be embraced and continued always.  I personally will miss Steve's vibrancy and passion and enthusiasm and love ... but so will the world ... and this unique and beautiful legacy will be continued by his family, his close friends, his colleagues, and the world.  Australia will be a unique spot on this earth ... even more unique than we realized because of Steve's famous crocodile park ... and the family and friends who contribute to its love, passion and continuation ... it will always represent a part of Steve's presence.  (Lola164@aol.com - 01-21-07 @ 10:26pmEST-USA)
