National Geographic Buys 'The Green Guide'
It Happened This Month: When I opened my latest e-mail newsletter from The Green Guide, I noticed something new: The National Geographic logo atop their masthead.
On its "about" page, The Green Guide explains, "As part of its ongoing mission to inspire people to care about the planet, National Geographic Society acquired the Green Guide in March 2007. Dubbed the “green living source for today’s conscious consumer”, The Green Guide is an invaluable resource for men and women, from young adults to grandparents, striving for a healthy and “greener” lifestyle. It is our collective vision that one day The Green Guide will be, for millions of consumers, the go-to source of information about practical everyday, environmentally responsible and health-minded product choices and actions."
This is a new step for National Geographic, purchasing an openly environmental consumer publication. NG should be able to increase the exposure of The Green Guide and obviously they envision tons of new subscribers. If NG maintains The Green Guide's well-researched style, The Green Guide could become the Consumer Reports for green shoppers.

What do you think? Have you used The Green Guide? How will National Geographic's purchase of this publication affect it?

People claim they care but nobody does any follow-up. If you really want to "be GREEN' and are not LKermit the Frog then get in touch with me. bobmueller1@aol.com, but I don't expect to hear from anybody because it is all talk.
